Re: Quality of reception
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýPeter, I¡¯m not sure what could be your filter issue. Have you looked at the information in the HL2 wiki? There is a section about Quisk with a helpful setup video link.

Re: Quality of reception
Are you using a dark theme? I ran into this issue as the actual checks in the check boxes were not showing up due to the dark theme I was using. On the latest quisk, if you add a hermes lite radio, the filter check boxes are all automatically set correctly. -Heath On Tue, Sep 17, 2024 at 11:49?AM ptrlsn1970 via <ptrlsn1970=[email protected]> wrote:

Hello,Hi, maybe it's missing some deps? But nothing changed in the Fedora packaging. If you found anything, please let me know. I will check it when I return from vacation :) 73! Jaroslav, OK2JRQ (Fedora downstream maintainer) |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Peter, You can install the wdsp library to enable NR2 and SNB. 73, Dan AI2M On 17 Sep 2024, at 9:59, ptrlsn1970@... wrote:

Re: Quality of reception
Hello,
?
I just tried it on the most resent version of Fedora 40. I installed Quisk version 4.2.38 from the repository. I configured a new Hermes radio. Now I cannot click the NR2 button (button is there but is disabled)? or choose SNB (the option is there on the list, but cannt be chosen). Also I cannot set up the band filters. Nothing happens when I click in the boxes.
?
Does anyone know what is wrong?
?
Thanks

Re: Quality of reception
Hi?
Using Hermes + Quisk under Linux + laptop or Raspberry Pi.? Do not have any of your issues.? NR3 minor distortion but no more than you might expect given that it must be effectively cutting fastest changes in signal, nothing destroying readability.? Problem with Windows ? or computer audio - I use pulse/alsa?

Quality of reception
Hello all,
?
I must be doing something wrong. Between Thetis and Quisk, the reception and quality of filters are several orders of magnitute greater on Thetis. So much so, that I can't imagin anyone using Quisk over Thetis. However people do use Quisk, so I must be doing something wrong.?
?
A station that I can hear clearly and without any noise on Thetis, will have very poor signal to noise ratio on quisk. Also, if I try using NR2 (why is there no NR1?), the signal will be distorted beyond understanding and turning NR2 off again will do nothing, so I have to restart Quisk to remove the distortion from NR2.
If I click NB and choose 1, 2 or 3, nothing happens at all. It is as if the button doesn't work. If, however, I choose SNB, I get the same kind of distortion I get from NR2 and I will have to restart Quist to remove it.
?
I like Quisks interface and would like to use it instead of Thetis, so I would appriciate any help in resolving this
?
Hardware:
Hermes Lite 2 with n2adr and IO board
Lenovo P50 laptop
?
Software:
Windows 10 and Quisk version 4.2.38
?
Thanks
Peter

Re: NR2 on linux
Tonight is ham radio stuff night, so I'll see if I can get some instructions together to get the libwdsp.so file built on ubuntu 24lts. I should also get a pull request sent to DL1YCF with changes to the make file so it will build both the static and shared library files. -Heath On Sat, Sep 7, 2024 at 2:37?AM Pascal V via <saintpolitain=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: NR2 on linux
The version of wdsp by John Melton G0ORX works with Quisk although John has not updated it for a couple of years. It is simple to install (git clone ) into the parent of the directory of your choice. Christoph has kept up with Warren's enhancements and the version on his site is improved although he no longer maintains it as a stand alone version and as already suggested needs work on the Makefile to get it installable as a system library.
?
I also wonder if for people like myself who use Quisk remotely whether it is necessary to install wdsp on the client as it looks to me like the noise processing is done on the server and perhaps the NR2 button can be enabled by default on the server end. Maybe it can be a config setting on the? hardware panel on the remote as we don't want it enabled if the server does not have wdsp installed.

Re: NR2 on linux
You need to have the libwdsp shared library in your library path. Unfortunatly, it seems like Ubuntu does not package this library. From what I can tell, the latest wdsp version for Linux is being maintained by DL1YCH in his fork of piHPSDR: . Here is what I did recently to update libwdsp on my systems for quisk: git clone down piHPSDR source repo from git hub change the wdsp/Makefile to build a shared library. run make to build the shared library copy that library over to /usr/lib64 (or /usr/lib on debian based distros). I need to make a pull request to DL1YCFs repo to build the shared library, not just the statically linked library. I don't have any ubuntu boxes setup, so I only have the exact steps to build it on Fedora. On Mon, Sep 2, 2024 at 8:47?AM Pascal V via <saintpolitain=[email protected]> wrote:
