Hello Christoph,
the communication to the TM-2 directly goes via USB by using the HID framework. It's independent to keyboard/mouse or other HID devices. Quisk has exclusive access to the TM-2. So you can browse trough the frequency band without the need to have quisk in the foreground. It's the same principle as for the ICOM RC-28. see /g/n2adr-sdr/message/3222

Build is specific to Windows and for some reason I cannot get to the bottom of, specific to Python 3.12.

if this is a HID device, does it need either quisk or the python script to be in the focus?

in other words, what happens if you are typing something into a logbook program while
turning the VFO knob?

I go this from Ben, AC2YD when he tested it. I am not sure what is going on.

I don't see the filter issue here, but I don't have much delay between
client and server.
I tried starting the server first, and also the client first ... in both
cases setting the server (via VNC Viewer) to a different filter setting
than the client would request ... always worked fine in about a half
dozen attempts.

Quisk has had builtin support for FreeDV for many years. The new RADE mode is exciting, especially the 1 dB peak to average power. So I am very willing to add the new FreeDV RADE to Quisk.? Unfortunately it is early days and there is no documented API for RADE. I don't want to pester the developers with support questions when they are working to finish the design and convert the Python code to C.
?
In the meantime the solution is to use their published FreeDV GUI application for RADE. This will work with Quisk by connecting it to the digital inputs and outputs just as you would with WSJT-X.

LOG4OM supports TCI.
With Thetis I am using TCI for the LOG4OM communication, which works nicely. This keeps the other interfaces available e.g. for WSJT-X/JTDX.
Would be great to have that in Quisk as well.?

Quisk remote control (ac2yd) feature - audio filter is wrong at startup

 

Hi,
Using Quisk remote control (ac2yd) with hermes lite 2. Every time I connect remote client audio filter is wrong (wide for SSB and out of sidetone in CW). When click filter button - it corrects. It looks like initialisation sequence from client is too fast for audio filter to setup. If I move or add additional filter init sequence after all other steps - it works OK, but it is time depending.

P.S. Second problem is missing io_board name errors in some settings on client, but at least Quisk don't crash.

FreeDV new mode RADE

 

Hi,
It looks like all FreeDV users are now using RADE mode. I tried to connect FreeDV 2.0.0 devel release on Quisk 4.2.40 but it doesn't work, may be because my computer has not enough power ??? Any project to includ this mode in Quisk ?

how to control external PTT on hermes lite 2 ?

I have external amplifier connected to HL2 and it is controlled by external PTT via RCA plug.
But I would like to tune external automatic tuner without engaging amplifier.
Also I would like to disable external PTT (external amplifier) for some bands also.
From schematics it is at different FPGA output from internal PTT for K2 (28 vs 7).

I don't see this error message at my QTH. The "io_board" attribute is set when the hardware is opened, and used when the widgets on the last line are created.? But the hardware is always opened first. Is there anything special or custom with your software? Are you using AC2YD software?
