My father had a couple of planes before I was born, but I never got to see them other than in pictures.? He had a Piper Cub for personal use and he also joined with a couple of other guys and had a C-47. They used that for air freight and some tax free moving of sugar from South America to a big hotel in NY during the war.
He taught me tool use, and to repair/make things you need as well as keep an eye out for valuable trash.? He grew up on a farm so that was how you did things.
