Re: Managing email folders

I had some success today, due to the fact I had a tooth pulled and was told to have a rest day. Sat in a recliner for several hours and went thru the folders and deleted so many old, useless emails. I don¡¯t recommend the tooth pulling part, but I¡¯m glad my email collection is slimmed down now. Good luck with yours. (And don¡¯t save this one!!) Re: Managing email folders
I too have a large ¡°documents directory¡± of emails I have saved in Apple mail. If if viewed one a day it would take me forever. Some of these mailboxes go four levels or more! I do ocassionally try and clear out a mailbox when I realize that that ¡°event¡± is over.
I wish there was an app that I could transfer my mail documents (Mailboxes) to That way I would probably do so once a year. I am an officer in a number of groups I belong to and I am amazed howoften I need to refer to previous emails (received or sent) to answer some members question - prove I sent them a message, etc. |

I have the same problem - I have never looked at any of the saved emails so I figure I don¡¯t really need them but yet I can¡¯t bear to get rid of them. When I get to the point of being tired of all of the mail folders I think I will just delete each folder and not bother with seeing what¡¯s in them. Throw it away if you haven¡¯t touched them in X# of weeks?, months?, years?, decades?. If, when you touch it it doesn¡¯t bring you joy, throw it away! Good luck and let me know what you decide. Managing email folders
There may be no easy way to solve my issue, but I¡¯ll throw it out there.
Been using Apple¡¯s Mail for ever and ever. Over the years, I have created ¡®folders¡¯ to move email into and save for whatever reason. Now I have folders full of different out-dated receipts, dead web links, and more useless info than a junk drawer in my kitchen. I guess I just have to take a folder a day and click through each email and save or toss. Anyone one have a magic spell or a technique to help clean these up? Thanks Bill M. |

Re: Geeking out
I don¡¯t travel with the laptop either - except when we go to Alabama to visit my son. We are there 2-4 weeks at a time twice a year so I got the second screen just for those times.

Re: HDMI cables
Thanks Beth. These two reasons speak volumes to me:

4. Cable Quality: Lower-quality cables may not meet the necessary specifications for high-bandwidth signals. Over time, they may degrade and fail to transmit signals correctly. The cable I took out was thinner and more flexible than the one I replaced it with. 8. Age: Over time, materials used in the cable can degrade, leading to failure. The bad cable has been in use for years. The cable I took out was thinner and more flexible than the one I replaced it with. ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýBeth may have found your answer but I want to tell you my experience. ?When we built our home I had purchased Monster HDMI cables thinking they were great. ?The quality of the video wasn¡¯t that good so I purchased AudioQuest Chocolate & boy are they great, I now only use that brand for any HMDI needs, TV¡¯s & Computer.? HDMI cables
Hi was having trouble with my TiVo. I couldn¡¯t watch live TV or get to my programs list. I turned off the TiVo and after it restarted, the same problem. I changed batteries in the remote - didn¡¯t work. I switched the HDMI cable from one input to another - no change. Finally I replaced the HDMI cable and voil¨¢ everything worked.
My question to the group - how does an HDMI cable go bad? One day everything works and the next day it doesn¡¯t. |

Another Apple f***up
In the latest Apple Watch OS the nerds at Apple have decided something was missing in the Timers App. They have included 13 preset timers (AKA Pinned Timers) that cannot be removed. And those Pinned timers appear at the top of any timers I have set up on my own so if I want to use one of my timers I have to scroll all the way past Apples Pinned Timers to get to the timers I set up to use with my workouts.
So I have gone to ¡°apple.com/feedbac <>¡± and registered my complaint with Apple, though, unless a gazillion Apple Watch Users make the same complaint, Apple probably won¡¯t fix the issue. What pain in the patootie Apple! |
