I¡¯ve been using lines of poetry for a long time. It¡¯s easy to come up with a 20-character password that even I can remember.?There are a lot of lines to choose from in?The Song of Hiawatha.

Some sites or programs will not let you make it too terribly long, but hopefully those will improve as computing?horsepower grows exponentially.

I¡¯ve never understood those sites that limit the length of a password, because no site really stores the actual password; they store a cryptographic hash of the password, which is only a dozen or so characters long. Not even the owner of the site can easily recover a good password from its hash.

Of course, Apple, Google and Microsoft just announced they are behind a?. It¡¯s about time! There have been secure sign-in methods available for a long time.

Many Macophiles don¡¯t realize that Macs and most other Unix-type machines have??for decades. When I remotely log into my Mac or Linux machines, the connection just happens like magic. I never have to type in a user name or password.
