Re: Preventing Oscillation with 2SC5551
As Dave mentioned, an RF adequate design and layout is important to achieve stability with high fT Transistors. Short leads, low inductance and impedance routing, continous ground planes and rightly

Yup, you are doing it correct, John.
You can also consider the result to be a tapped coil and try using fewer turns if the resonant frequency of the loop is too low for your signal of choice. It

VLF receiver antenna to monitor the sun for SID activity
I'm building a VLF antenna using a multi-conductor cable. I am to connect the wires in series. Does this mean that after I have the cable wrapped around the frame I expose all the wires at each end.?

Re: Cross Country Wireless Loop v4
Cool, glad it arrived OK but shame about the rubbish packaging. If you can give us a little review after you've had a few days to play with it, that would be really appreciated Dominic. Unless it

Re: Preventing Oscillation with 2SC5551
The spectrum analyzer is the proper tool to use.
Oscillations are usually caused by poor layout and poor bypassing. HF
bypassing should be done with either NPO or COG dielectric capacitors

Re: Preventing Oscillation with 2SC5551
There are inexpensive hobby spectrum analyzers that will work for detecting amplifier oscillation. Most any hobbyist ought to be able to afford one of them. The earlier version is the "TinySA" and

The only sure way of detecting oscillation is with a spectrum analyzer, which is what I use.? (Siglent SSA 3021X).

Re: Loop amp using augmentation (augmentation pictorial)
Well, it did not pass with the email, so I have uploaded on the photo

Hello again
I violated the rules in uploading files to the group.io.
Sorry for that.
I try to attach here a jpg.

As I said, without a description, deleted. Hopefully he'll reupload it with a description, or put it in the? temp files folder I created, Which is better in this case, as this is a temporary

Curious - what were the indications of the Amp Oscillating - supply current ?oscillating (varying) as seen on an oscilloscope, etc ??

I fixed a couple omissions on the 12V version schematic so if you've downloaded it already, I suggest downloading it again.

New Folder for SWL FE 7523 Loop Amp using Trask Augmentation
I made a new folder and put the original 21 volt schematic in plus my 12 volt version plus my sweep of the 12 volt version with the 43002403 cores.
The name of the folder for searching: Loop Amp

I've found generally just a ferrite bead on the collector, as close to the collector as possible, works to stop oscillation. I use the -61 material small bead (about 1/8" long and 1/8" diameter
