Raphael, I don't know.....I'm not smart enough to find "holes" in the numerical electromagnetics code.? I do know that there is no equation for any particular antenna configuration in the

Dan,
I think it is a doubtful conclusion, let's for sake of argument forget about any software simulations apps.
The loop in short mode current is closed with about 3 ohms load resistor and the

This is a known difference between a magnetic antenna and electric antenna.

With a dipole of 1/4-wavelength monopole when its short (physically) it's

All,
The mentioned here Chavdar's webpage represents correct equivalent model of small loop antenna that should be used in order to come up with a dummy aerial for loop antenna.

Should have said, that particular data was for a 36 segment, 1 meter diameter loop, zero conductor resistivity, 25.4mm diameter conductor, excited by a 1V/meter plane wave into a 1 MEG load.?

Mark, I got the same sort of result....using either NEC4.2 or NEC5 engines....flat current vs. frequency response into a short-circuit.? On the other hand, with an open-circuit (i.e. 1 MEGohm) load,

A dummy (& test procedure) for testing the common mode rejection already exists in IEC315-1, Fig. 7. The original IEC standard is behind a paywall, but a nearly identical Indian standard is

Hi Chavadar,
I ran a simple loop model in EZNEC Pro+ version 7.0. The simulated loop is an octagon with dimensions that approximate a one meter diameter circular loop. Conductor diameter is 3.3 mm.

Re: Steve ugly-build LZ1AQ using MPS2222 sweeps uploaded to Photos
Martin,
The shortcut of that is the loop works in a short circuit mode when Ra=Xa, where Xa=2x pi x f x La. That represents narrowed bandwidth, it is good for LVF and LF just for that
