Re: Half LZ1AQ Transistor Noise Output at LF and Norton 10 MHz gain and NF comments
Hi Steve, Great detail there. I have some BFU590s. It has been said somewhere that they can be unstable at 12v or above. Pfut! Work ok at 10V. Andrew VK5CV Get Outlook for iOS<https://aka.ms/o0ukef>

Re: Half LZ1AQ Transistor Noise Output at LF and Norton 10 MHz gain and NF comments
My interest in this project started some time ago when I happened to notice that the original LZ1AQ circuit using 2N2222A/PN2222A transistors couldn't hear my weakest daytime LF NDB using a 39"

Great stuff Steve, Lots of different 2222s I see. I wonder if there are any gems in the other common NPNs? 2N3904s PN100 etc. Are there any PNPs that look good? 2N2906, PN200 etc. Andrew VK5CV Sent

Re: Question: Building impedance transformers.
Transformers are designed to give sufficient inductance at the lowest desired frequency of reception, at least for use in receiving-purposes. So more turns gives higher inductance, needed for lower

Re: UTC Clock Plugin?
Yes, there is. In the CONFIG file, there is an option to set local or UTC, if I remember. But, I run my PC and laptops on UTC, so it is not an issue. Doing radio astronomy, that is the only reasonable

Thank you for the tremendous work you've done, Steve Since a couple of years i am preferring the BFU590 in SOT89 or SOT223 case. The BFU5xx series transistors are in active production and?

As Fred said, "RE" code translates to 2SC3357. I removed one transistor from the HFDY board and tested it in my "half LZ1AQ" LF noise output board with the 2.5 uH toroid on the input, and then in the
