Re: HYBRID QUADRATURE JH-6-4 or equivalent

Hi Martin,

Please send me what you have in the way of circuits?

It is a 90 degree hybrid, utilising cascaded phase shift networks, to combine two inputs with a 90 degree phase difference.

This is required to produce omnidirectional, circular polarisation, when two linear antennas mounted at right angles are combined.?

If you use a standard 0 / 180 combiners, you only end up with a resultant linear polarisation, at 45 degrees to the two sets of elements.

The JH-6-4 is quite complicated, and uses precision value capacitor and inductors, which is why it is so expensive, it also probably requires a bit of tweaking in order to optimise the response curves.
?
I have a much simpler circuit that I reverse engineered from a pair of crossed CSA loops, if you wish to try making your own.

Does anyone know what the JH-6-4 or equivalent is made of or how it works?
