There is another compelling reason for my not choosing the balun before dummy configuration, but I have forgotten all about it.
I want to be able to re-use the balun for P1dB & OIP3 testing without involving the dummy. In the existing balun after dummy arrangement, a DPDT switch is all it takes to bypass the dummy:

On the other hand, a the balun before dummy, it will require a 4PDT which is not readily available.
