Z-100PLUS Stopped!!

Hi all,
Re-arranged stuff and when I got the Z100 re-attached; nothing. No LED's or anything.
Been using it for a number of months with the FT-891 and no problem at all.
Has 13VDC at the "inside" connector so who knows!!

Re: Z-11Pro II updated manual?

I appear to have had the same issue as Peter. ?Received a replacement chip from LDG¡¯s excellent customer service and everything is working perfectly! ? It actually worked pretty well before but now matches the manual perfectly and memory tuning is much faster.

z-11 Pro firmware

Hi all, I have a problem with this ATU that stopped working well during a 70 cm band qso with the Yaesu FT-757D which is known to have isolation problems between the UHF and HF ranges causing false starts of the tuning procedure. Particularly it stopped working the manual activation of the tuning using the Tune button however it worked normally going on transmission on the various freq ranges perhaps going first to AM to safeguard the relays. Today I tried downloading the firmware from the PIC ROM to try reloading it but I corrupted the file and nothing worked anymore. The firmware version is 15 but trying to reload the 13 available here among the obsolete files the program starts and the keys work but it does not tune automatically even going on transmission. Would you have any suggestions on this? T

My recommendation is to follow the latest manual revision regardless of your tuner's age.

My tuner, firmware ver 1.3, bought in October 2024 from HRO came with the "MANUAL REV B" with the following specifications:
?
".1 to 125W SSB and CW peak power, 30W watts on PSK and digital modes, and 100 watts on 6 meters"
?
The website "Specs" and "MANUAL REV C" give the following specifications:
?
Transmit Power Limits: SSB: .1 to 125 watts SSB; CW: 100 watts; FT-8: 75 watts; PSK and digital modes: 50 watts; 6 meters: 50 watts.
?
So how do I know what the maximum power capability is on my tuner? Are there different revisions of the Z-11ProII with different power capabilities? Or are those just revisions of the manual?

Re: LDG Z11 Pro II with Icom 705

I own the Z11 Pro II and use it with my IC705. ?Yes, it works with a TRS cable and the tune button. ?IIRC, my one complaint with this configuration is that the radio doesn¡¯t lower the power to tune. ?Probably not a big deal even at 10W, but I like to be kind to my radio finals and the band.
?
That said, I don¡¯t use it that way at all. ?I bought a waterproof electrical cord box and have the tuner running remotely off internal AA batteries at the base of the antenna. ?It senses the mismatch and tunes as needed. ?When I move around the band, I lower my power to 0.5W (5%) and hit the CW key or key up the radio in FM mode and watch the SWR until it stabilizes. ?It usually does a good job, though sometimes it doesn¡¯t seem to want to tune certain parts of some bands. In that case I might tune to a different band then back to get it to try again.

Thanks for the replies and confirmation about the compatibility of the Z11 Pro with the Tune function of the Icom 705.

??? I am looking to interface an IC-705 and AT-200Pro.? Does anyone know the appropriate cable to use?? Will a standard 3.5mm TRS cable work?

Massively old thread but I'll comment for posterity.

TL;DR: Yes, a standard 3.5mm TRS ("stereo headphone") cable works. I've tested it with the LDG Z-11ProII and other users report it's the same function with their larger, desktop tuners. IMO, this makes LDG tuners the stand-out for IC-705 compatibility.

As an aside: ensure your IC-705 has updated firmware or you won't be ablet to control third-party tuners. With current firmware, there's an option to select "OTHER" tuners (as opposed to the AH-705) Location is MENU-> SET -> FUNCTION -> TUNER.

Good afternoon, I have a problem in 80m the condenser has burned, do you know where I can find spare parts?

Re: LDG Z11 Pro II with Icom 705

I have used the Z100plus with tht IC705.? HRO sells it with cables for the IC705, the coax (BNC to PL25)? and tuner control cabl).? You connect the control cable to the TUNER output of the IC705 and the rig recognizes there is an external tuner and the TUNE button on the 705 will light and you can force the rig to key and the tuner will tune using the control cable.

I have used the Z11ProII with other rigs, but not my IC705.? However, I bet it will work also.? But if you have not purchased a LDG tuner then consider the LDG Z100pro.? HRO used to label the tuner something like Z100/705.? Also the Z100 cost about $80 less than the Z11proII, but both have similar specs.

I'd like to bough an Z11 Pro II tuner for my Icom 705. The AH 705 is very expensive and support only 10 Watt. The Z11 Pro II could also be used on other more powerful RTXs.
I've read that there is no problem to use it using the "Tune Button" on the LDG but i wonder if anyone has had a chance to try it using a standard 3.5mm TRS cable so as to take advantage of the Tune button function on the Icom 705.
I have read different opinions and so I was wondering if anyone has actually tried? using the Z11 Pro II with the Icom 705 using the TRS stereo cable (I intend in the real world non "in theory")

Re: At-1000 burn capacitor

Look at RF parts and see if they have the value you need......500V mica..? I would replace all of the (C7) caps that are in parallel with the burnt one.? Most likely they all have been overstressed with high voltage.?

Re: LDG Z11 Pro II with Icom 705

Dear Franco,
?
My 705 only has speaker mic and key trs jacks.?? However, you do not need a trs cable, just connect your radio and antenna coax to the Z-11 Pro II and when you TX the tuner will tune; it senses the RF. ? You also may use the tuner's Tune button to initiate full tuning. ? Tuning modes are on page 13 of the manual. ? Follow the user manual for correct settings.

Re: z, kt, it-100tuners use with any radio

FWIW, I own four standalone auto-tuners, including two from LDG and I've never felt the need to directly interface them to a rig. Just a half second of low level carrier is enough to get them to immediately jump to the appropriate memory and if there is no memory affiliated with my intended frequency, sending that same carrier will initiate a quick tuning cycle. With my Yaesu rigs, I have the initiate tune pin on the amplifier control port wired to a small momentary push-button which instructs the rig to send ten watts of carrier (power is set by a menu setting) which is useful for all sorts of things, including both auto/manual tuners and tuning up amplifiers.

Re: z, kt, it-100tuners use with any radio

I am borrowing an AT-11mp, it doesn't like 160, 80 and won't tune, however, if I manually tune it I can get low SWR. better than 1.5:1, then if i change freq a little it will tune............. if I change alot it won't be able to tune it again, why is it having problems auto tuning???
?
Any thoughts?
