Re: ldg+IC-7610+IC-PW1 issue
I have the LDG-1000 Pro2. When I turn it off, it switches to the second antenna port. There is no way, as far as I know, to get it to stay on the first port when powering off. If your antenna was set on the first port, the LDG tuner (powered off)? had no antenna in the line you turned on the transmitter, so there went the smoke.

Re: Y-ACC-1
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýGood catch, Paul.? One more reason why Amateurs should motivate themselves to build their own cables, learn about pin-outs, understand what the logic of each pin does, and in so doing slow the slide toward becoming a plug-and-play hobby. 73, Kent K9ZTV On Sep 6, 2024, at 7:07?PM, Paul Gerardi <pgerardi1@...> wrote:

Y-ACC-1
Good evening,
According to LDG's website, the Y-ACC-1 does not lower the RF power. ("This cable does not fold back power (reduce RF).") However, HRO and Gigaparts are advertising it does.
As an owner of the Y-ACC-1 connected to an FT-991A, I can attest it does not reduce RF power. Is there a cable that does? And why hasn't LDG notified HRO and Gigaparts to remove that statement? I could have sworn when I bought the cable years ago, LDG claimed it reduced power. That, to me, was a major selling point.

Re: ldg+IC-7610+IC-PW1 issue
I'm assuming you meant the LDG control was connected to the 7610 but the RF went 7610 to PW1 to LDG. It sounds like the PW1 came up at high power, the LDG tried to tune and thus the smoke. I recall some changes to the LDG tuners that disabled the tuning in some modes but not others. IF you had the LDG in auto-tune mode it tuned when it saw power application. Not a good thing.....

Unni, Yes the radio saves the tuning setting for every 10 khz. I usually pick the tune button of whatever software I am? using to see what the radio's SWR is, then retune if needed. 73, Don, NN8B "Meanwhile, with ever increasing power, the telegraph has become not only the master of commerce, but the tongue of mankind." - James D. Be aware that some adapters offer voltage injection and have cause "blown" fuses in some owners radios. On Sun, Aug 25, 2024, 12:15?AM Easwaran Unni Tharakkal VU2TE via <unnitharakkal=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: FT Dx 10 Internal and externa tuner
Thank you Don for the details. I am trying to get familiarized with the internal tuner. My fear is, frequent use of an internal tuner may give some problems?with its relays. Any way will experiment and find out the best way. Does this FT 10 tuner save the tuner control for future like the LDG tuners? 73s GD and regards VU2TE Unni On Sun, Aug 25, 2024 at 5:47?PM Don, NN8B via <nn8b.oh=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: FT Dx 10 Internal and externa tuner
Unni, I use both. One of my antennas can be tuned by the ftdx10's limited tuning range (3:1) and another antenna cannot, so I use an external tuner for that one. Both antennas go through the tuner. In my case it is a Palstar AT2K manual tuner. I did have an LDG AT1000ProII tuner in place but found the auto tuner would not get the SWR low enough. I had to constantly fiddle with the C and L buttons to manually tune the antenna. The AT200ProII may be able to get the SWR to a lower number than the AT1000ProII. With either tuner I sometimes put them into bypass and use the radios tuner. The external tuner usually shows a high SWR but the radio is happy so I go with it. Bottom line is whether your antenna(s) are resonant and within range of the radios 3:1 range. If they are, use the?radio's tuner. If one is within the radio's range and one is not use the auto tuner like I did and put the antenna that is within the range of the radio? in the antenna port that can be bypassed. 73, Don, NN8B "Meanwhile, with ever increasing power, the telegraph has become not only the master of commerce, but the tongue of mankind." - James D.
