Re: Z100+ tunes but AT200 Pro will not???

I have the AT1000 ProII, it has been doing odd thing lately, to turn it off, I
have to hold the Power button down, relays cycle a few times, then the unit
powers off.
The thing still works FB though.

All Reset: Press and hold Func + Ant + Tune while applying DC power. This
will reset the unitto factory defaults, and will erase all frequency memories.
The AT-200/AT-100 Pro II do not have a reset like the older models.
Holding those buttons and turning the tuner on with the power button on the
front panel won't work - you need to use the 12v source to do it.

As long as you have the AT-200 Pro and not the ProII try this first:

All Reset: Press and hold Func + Ant + Tune while applying DC power. This will reset the unit
to factory defaults, and will erase all frequency memories.

The AT-200 Pro II does not have a reset like the older model.

Tony,

My experience was the same as na6mb's; I sent my LDG AT-100 Pro II back to LDG for service.? Turn around was fairly decent and they didn't charge me any repairs or bench time.

Good luck,

AT1000Pro Active/Bypass indicator

One feature of the ProII missing from the Pro is the LED for Active or Bypass.?
Any idea if the Pro can be modified to have that LED??
Just need to know where the signal is present on the PCB and I can add an indicator.?

Re: Available Service RE: LDG1000Pro

AT1000Pro stooped allowing Bypass / Active switch.?
Sent in to LDG.?
Fixed and did a SW update for little or no cost.?
Biggest expense was shipping.?

Re: AT-7000 not storing in memory and radio tune command issues

Pedro, thanks for the reply.

I have tried the reset procedure with no change.

However, I did notice something different today.? I have a 40m halfwave dipole, and when I tune on the 40m band, it does a fast memory tune.? After a reset, it still does a fast tune, but if I force a full tune, the LED does blink to indicate it is storing new parameters in memory.? This only happens on 40m.? On other bands, even when it finds a tune, it never indicates that it saves it in memory and always does a long full tune.? Perhaps it only stores the tuning parameters if the SWR it tunes is low enough, but I don't see anything in the manual about that.

Re: AT-7000 not storing in memory and radio tune command issues

Hi Brad
At manual explain something about it but I don't know if it will help.you. i hope yes:

Expert Button
Your AT-7000 has a control button and LED inside the case that may prove useful in certain?
situations. To access this “expert” control, carefully remove the top of the case by unscrewing the?
four screws that hold it on. The button and LED are located on the PC board near the front panel?
on the left. Use caution when transmitting with the cover removed; high RF voltages may be?
present. LDG recommends that you use an insulated rod to press the button.?
The following functions are available:?
Full reset: press and hold the button while powering on the radio and tuner. Hold for at least ??
second after powering up. The LED will light for about 6 seconds, go off for ? second, then flash?
back on for about ? second before going off. All memories will be cleared.?
Manual Bypass: Press the button for less than ? second, then release to put tuner in bypass?
mode. The LED will blink once.?
Memory Tune: Press the button for less than ? to 2.5 seconds to start a memory tune cycle. As?
you hold the button down the LED will light to indicate you are in the proper time interval.?
Release the button while the LED is lit. The tuner will automatically default to a full tune cycle if?
no parameters are stored for the present frequency.

Full Tune: Press the button for more than 2.5 seconds to start a full tuning cycle, even if?
parameters are stored for that frequency. As you hold the button down, the LED will light, then?
go out; release the button after the LED goes out.?
The LED will light during any tuning cycle. When a memory tuning cycle ends, the LED will?
simply go out if the tuning cycle was successful. After a full tuning cycle, the LED will simply go?
out if the achieved SWR was higher than the previously stored value. This indicates that new?
parameters were not stored. If the achieved SWR is lower than the saved value, the LED will?
blink three times fast to indicate that new parameters were saved. The LED will blink once if the?
SWR is the same as the stored value.?
Three slow blinks indicates that RF power was lost during the tuning cycle. Adjust your?
transceiver as necessary and begin a new tuning cycle

AT-7000 not storing in memory and radio tune command issues

Hello,

I got a used LDG AT-7000 autotuner to use with my Icom IC-718.? The previous owner added a manual tune button to it by connecting a button to the pins on the radio port.? Otherwise no obvious modifications other than holes drilled in the case to access the inside expert button and to see the LED.

When I first used it, it did not work with the tune button on my radio, however, the inside expert button did start a tune cycle.? I fixed this problem by adding a jumper wire to connect the tune pin from the radio port to the expert button, essentially making it so when the radio requested a tune (or the added manual button was pushed) it was as though the expert button was pushed.? This works, but does anyone have any idea what might cause tuning to not work without my jumper wire to the expert button or any pointers on where to look for damage on the circuit board (there is nothing obvious).

My second and more important problem is that the tuner does not seem to be utilizing its memory.? Every tune is a long full tune.? From watching the LED, it seems that tune settings are simply not stored, either because it isn't trying to store them or because there are old settings already stored in the memory and it doesn't get a better match.? I have done a full reset to clear the memory, and the LED indicates the tuner performs the reset, however, the problem still persists.? My experience is the same with or without the jumper wire modification I mentioned previously.? Any ideas on how to diagnose and fix this problem?

An inconvenience related to the full tuning cycle is that when the tune is in progress, the radio becomes unresponsive to CAT control.? I have my radio set to tune when transmitting if not already tuned, so when I forget to hit the tune button myself after changing bands and the I start transmitting from my computer my software throws a fit and needs to be reset.? Just something I'd like to stop working around and think will be solved by fixing the memory issue.

Is either of these common issues with this tuner?? Is there a full schematic of the board floating around somewhere?? If I had that I could more easily poke around and try to find the fault without tracing everything on the board and drawing up my own schematic.

Thanks,
Brad N3WCC

Don’t feel limited by making the wire a straight run. I have a mobile home and a 117’ end fed exactly as yours is setup with the 9:1.

I also have a 1:1 where the coax connects to the 9:1 and another 1:1 where it feeds into my house.

The closest example of the shape is a question mark with the bottom running along the peak of my roofline!

I have an at100ProII and it tunes every band 630 to 6 meters – at least on the digital frequencies.

John,

FYI... 65' is a length to be avoided for an end fed wire antenna since it will result in high impedance at your matching unit.?? Helpful references are: , , and ? If you have space then 70-72' would be much better for 80-10M or reduce it to 60' for 40-10M.
