Re: Why do I have to continually retune my radio?

The auto tuner is going back to its last remembered band settings.

?

Normal function as if one had to manually tune to a band using a legacy tuner.,

Hi Ken (nice name).? I too have disabled full auto mode on my LDG tuners because of unexpected tuning.? My understanding is the settings are saved; however you need initiate a tune cycle to make the match.? A tune cycle where a match has been memorized should only take a second or two with no major ¡°chattering¡± of relays.? Perhaps you are holding the ¡°tune¡± button on the tuner for over 2.5 seconds.? According to the manual, holding the ¡°tune¡± button over 2.5 seconds initiates a full tune cycle, regardless of if the frequency has been memorized or not.

Hey Ken,?

?

I had to take it off full automatic tune mode because?when on SSB it was trying to autotune while transmitting and my audio was interrupted by the relay chattering to tune the radio.

?

I was under the impression that settings were saved and that retuning wasn't necessary.

?

Was I wrong?

Is this new behavior?? I mean, your antenna needs to be ¡°re-matched¡± to your radio when you change bands, or make large frequency changes in the same band.? Is your tuner in full auto mode?? Sounds to me like it¡¯s operating as it should.? Perhaps I¡¯m missing something.

[Edited Message Follows]

I noticed this weekend when I was changing bands or frequencies on a band that my SWR would go up, even though the day before (or earlier on the same day), I had tuned my rig/antenna.

?

I use the LDG AT-100ProII autotuner

?

When using SSB,?I wind up setting fldigi to AM to get a carrier and hit the tune button.

?

What I don't understand is why I seem to have to do this with every band switch (or move up/down the band).

?

Is there a solution to this?
