We have been retained by real estate investment manager and private lender to recruit a Loan Originator. The firm provides flexible financing options for residential and commercial asset classes through a client-first, hands-on approach to every transaction while providing a customized loan structure that meets the short- and long-term goals of each borrower. The firm¡¯s leadership team has decades of experience and a successful track record growing investments and private debt strategies totaling over $3B in AUM across diversified real estate markets, borrowers and asset classes.?

ROLE

The Loan Originator¡¯s primary objective is to build a book of business and onboard new clients seeking shorter term options for bridge, ¡°fix/flip¡±, new construction and debt service coverage ratio (DSCR)/Rental loans, primarily in the residential transition lending (RTL) space. The Loan Originator shall be responsible for the full life cycle of the loan origination, from converting leads to vetting borrower history and capability as part of the application process, to structuring loan terms and term sheet issuance in conjunction with senior partner review, through loan funding and closing.?

While each borrower and loan parameters are examined on a case-by-case-basis, our client¡¯s primary target are borrowers seeking $500,000 to $5M, 6 ¨C 24-month loans for 1-8 unit residential/multifamily properties (non-owner-occupied) with an LTV up to 75%. ?

The ideal candidate has an established network of borrowers and/or debt and equity brokers who can successfully originate a minimum of $3M (2-6 deals) per month with a target of $40mm or more annually. This individual is also willing to expand his/her network via cold-calling leads and prospects and participation in speaking engagements or in-person networking events. In return, our client can offer ¡°above-market¡± percentage participation on cost of fund spreads for origination fees and higher than average bps on the overall loan value for closed loan transactions.?

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Motivated, self-starter that thrives with incentive-based compensation structures.
  • Five (5) years of experience in commercial real estate lending, preferably with a focus on loan origination with underwriting experience a plus.
  • Strong, demonstrable history of driving sales growth and developing client relationships.
  • Experience growing and maintaining a CRM client database to help track business pipeline.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with borrowers and brokers and work collaboratively with other members of the originations team.
  • In-depth knowledge of the residential and multifamily real estate market, including trends, all major property types and key players.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate or a related field.?
