Re: 2017 lagoon reefing system
PaulinOz
I stitch the end of the new line to the end of the old line with some whipping twine, then wrap a bit of electrical tape around to make it run smooth, then pull new line in with old line same as you would changed out a halyard. Paul Rogers . Lagoon 450F #233 2013 East Coast of Oz |
Re: 2017 lagoon reefing system
We pull the lines in every time on our 2016 Lagoon 52, Summer Kai. It takes us about 3-4 minutes to get the main down as we have to bring the halyard down some and the pull the reefing lines. It¡¯s not that bad. I like 12 mm Dynemma idea for the first 2 reeeding lines.?

Re: 2017 lagoon reefing system
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýPaul, If he has the same problem that I do, which is after dropping the main, large loops of reefing line hang down aft of the bimini and swing about. My worry is not that it is bad for the sail or the lines, but it is actually a real danger to anyone sitting there. Potentially a loop could get around you, very low chance, but the lines do whip back and forth and would be unpleasant to be hit by them. So if we drop the sails and have to motor back into the harbor after a daysail, the last 30 minutes are an issue. Just tossing the lines up seems not to work, they always fall back down. You need to go up and put them in the sail bag.
Maybe not a problem in the 450. |
Re: 2017 lagoon reefing system
As PaulinOz said! DO not haul in the reefing lines, just arrange them as neatky as feasible inside the lazy pack after mainsail is down. Otherwise, you will also have difficulties railing the mainsail at next deployment - you will need to drag all reefing lines out during the operation. Un-necessary effort. -- |

The only time I pull in the reefing lines is if I am putting a reef in. Just tuck the overhang at the back into the sail bag when zipping it up. Also swapped out 14mm 1st and 2nd reef line for 12mm Dyneema runs a lot easier through the blocks and pulleys. -- Paul Rogers . Lagoon 450F #233 2013 East Coast of Oz |
2017 lagoon reefing system
Has anyone out there resolved the reefing line dragissues when dropping your main. ?Is there a better method than just hauling them in as another slowly lowers the main.
not doing this leaves a mess of line hanging out the back of the sail bag. ?Once like this it is even harder to real in and is not healthy for the systems and sail. |
Re: Factory electrical problem
PaulinOz
Take the square chrome covers of the LED roof lights, I recently noticed some screws through the roof panels hidden by the light trim in my L450F circa 2013. I have not removed them but my guess would be they are helping to hold up the panels. Worth a look. -- Paul Rogers . Lagoon 450F #233 2013 East Coast of Oz |
Re: Factory electrical problem
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThe gas bottle storage enclosure on my L400 was a ¡°drop in¡± that was secured from the top via screws. The screws were located under the rubber weather seal for the seat lid. If your L450 LPG storage area is similar, you might be able to unscrew and lift it out to gain access below.? Hope that helps... Factory electrical problem
Hi,
My 450 is now 5 years old and it has been a great boat. It is a 230V/50Hz ship and I have wired my own LPG safety system into the boat and have therefore not used SG1 power from the 'spare' switch on the electrical panel for this purpose. Recently, I found a use for the 'spare' (LPG in the US version) switch. To my surprise when switching the switch on it immediately tripped the associated 10A breaker/fuse. My question is:- I have traced the fault to the wiring downstream of plug 211 (a 23 wire connector). 211 resides under the stove area just aft of the house water pump. Disconnecting the plug 211 solves the problem and I can therefore prove that the short circuit is downstream of this point. My problem is that it appears the short is aft of the bulkhead, somewhere under the port cockpit seating area, just outboard and aft of the gas bottle enclosure. The only access to this area appears to be from the trim panels in the port aft stateroom. Does anyone have any ideas on how to unsnap the panels. I have tried everything I can think of without damaging them but they are on tight!! Thanks, Martin |

Clever; I like it! Are the plates the same size as deck plates? If so I¡¯ve seen these:?
And these:? And I have a white plastic version that can extend for various widths bu I¡¯m not near the boat and can¡¯t recall where I found it. LeeV Corsair 36?Momentum (for sale) |

Re: help to setup leading control lines to cockpit on 410 series 1
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýDid it on our 2001 410 2 years ago. So Worth it every time I hit the button. Don't forget a power winch(cut down white dish tub works to cover everything inside). Dont forget main sail hulldown line. Reefs(3) all ran back. Didn't change out the gooseneck to loop reefs up, so still have to lock in main at mast,? but it's fast and reef lines that go up before heading to helm seem to be very restrictive when letting a reef out.? Pm me if you have more questions,? we've owned Uno Mas for 10 years. Wi-Fi is sporadic in FP so I may not respond quickly. Sent via the Samsung Galaxy S?6 active, an AT&T 4G LTE smartphone |
