Re: L420 now sprit
Rob Hepler
开云体育Looking at that picture, I’m pretty sure that bowsprit tube also extends behind the plate and into the structure. ?Why do i think this? ?Because the heads of those fasteners appear nowhere near large enough to provide sufficient resistance to the huge forces that will be generated by the cantilevered sprit with a large sail attached to it.Actually, I’d even wager that boats without a bowsprit also have a stub extending into the structure to provide shear strength required for the forestay. -Rob

In Australia they sell suitable replacements in shops that sell domestic curtain accessories. Take one as a sample when shopping, can be slightly different shape but work perfectly well. They are not a specialized marine fitting, if they where they would be twice the price and last half as long. -- Paul Rogers . Lagoon 450F #233 2013 East Coast of Oz |

Need Help on Windlass Replacement - Lofrans Tigress vs. Quick Dylan 1700?
My 14 year old Leroy-Somers Windlass failed on my Lagoon L-440 (Hull #20; 2004 model year) and this 14 year old Leroy-Somers Windlass is "beyond repair."? (Leroy-Somers was purchased by Emerson which discontinued this line of Windlass).? ? To compound the problem, my original Leroy-Somers Windlass? was a "horizontal model" and the "first" recommended replacement for my Leroy-Somers was the Quick Dylan 1700 - but this Windlass only comes as a? "vertical model" and Multitech/Lagoon has suggested as a solution to purchase a "Lofrans-Tigress" Windlass which has been successfully installed on another older Lagoon L-44 and will work in the horizonta windlass configuration on my vessel.
So - Question:? Any thoughts out there on:
*Horizontal vs. Vertical configuration of the Quick Dylan 1700 (my horizontal configuration won't enable the Quick to be successfully installed...so says Lagoon)
*Lofrans Tigress:? Anybody have any success with this brand?? And any recommended dealer (Multitech doesn't carry the Lofran-Tigress)?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Does anyone know a source for the timer relay in the showers on L450 other than Lagoon

After getting spares I was able to repair the defective one byt removing the cover, taking the spring off the armature, removing it and cleaning the copper contact area with an emery board. ?It had accumulated ‘stuff’ which came off, the relay works fine now, just be careful you don’t lose the spring. ?The 10 A replacment which is programmable I could not get to work, ?no amount of turning the dials seemed to find the right combination.

Re: [LagoonOwners] Lagoon 400 Curtain Sliders [1 Attachment]
Went to Bene online site, can't find these. Does anyone have the PN. Does Ward still work there? You have to use their catalog, but sort of have to know what to start with to drill down...
This original message says it has an attachment, but somehow I can't access it. I am putting up a pic of the hook. |
Re: Sheared off the end of our sail drive shift cable
开云体育If you're lucky thete might be enough extra thread at the upper end to make up the 1/2 inch. In any case have to make sure it is fully in gear in fwd and reverse or it coukd damage the transmission Bill Sent from my T-Mobile 4G LTE Device |
Re: Does anyone know a source for the timer relay in the showers on L450 other than Lagoon
I installed this one in the shower pump system on a Lagoon 500 that also uses the Gulper drain pump. There is a bit of a steep learning curve to program it but it works well and has many more functions than time off delay...... ? Gerry S/V Liahona Lagoon 500 Grenadines |

The Gulper pump only requires a 10 amp fuse, so a 10 amp relay will do the job. A variable delay relay is a very good option for the Gulper pump operation, as having a 45 second delay greatly improves the showering experience. Have had a 10 amp adjustable relay fitted to our shower drain pumps for over 18 months, working perfectly. -- Paul Rogers . Lagoon 450F #233 2013 East Coast of Oz |
Sheared off the end of our sail drive shift cable
Sheared off the end of our sail drive shift cable, there was a bit of thread left, so I was able to put it back together but it is now a little over 0.5" shorter than it once was. This is on a 2007 Lagoon 380 S2 with a Volvo Penta 130S-B sail drive(D1-30 engines). Thanks, |
Lagoon 43PC: Bilge Pump Dx? Location of water tank guage?
I bought my 2004 Lagoon 43PC in France and have found the owner's manual to be a rather limited resource, even with? the use of a French to English web interpreter! Where are the float valves for the automatic bilge pumps located? How can I most easily test them? Are these pumps the same ones that are activated by the electronic switch on the helm and also by the DC electronics panel?
Also, my water gauge sensor works for only one water tank--can someone tell me where to find these sensors so I can check them out? Thanks! |
