Re: help to setup leading control lines to cockpit on 410 series 1

Hi paul, i have an 410S2 hull #156, everything comes back to the cockpit, it's easy to sail alone.
I have two winches to port and one on starboard, they are on top of the roof, the rope clutches are in front, there are pulleys at the base of the mast to direct the halyards, topping lift, reef lines to the cluthes.
Let me know if you would like pictures, im at the boat now so it would be possible

help to setup leading control lines to cockpit on 410 series 1

good morning everybody
i am trying to decide whether to move my control lines to the cockpit or leave them at the mast. the main reason for this review of my setup is due to a lot of single handed sailing i do, on a coastal basis.
the first lagoon 410 series did not have this option. series 2 does.?
so i am seeking advice from someone who has do this or can review the series 2 410 and how it works.
i have gone over the pro and cons of mast or cockpit line management, so i am not looking for that debate.??
this is more a practical breakdown of procedure and general cost to achieve the above. i then can make an informed decision on my route to take.

thanks in advance

L440 #029 charter version toilet to shower conversion

Hello,

has anyone done a conversion of one toilet to shower closet (standing shower) in L440?
I'm interested in turning one toilet into a shower room, as the showers as they are leave a lot to be desired.
In effect, what should I take into account?

Yours,
Miikka

Re: Removal of the Sliding Door

Yes we did, here is an excerpt from the email. Hope that helps, ?and thanks for the greetings.

Good afternoon John,

?

My apologies for the delay, your message got lost in my inbox. I am attaching a picture of the double adjustable roller, part number 191048, this is likely the one you have, it sells for $64.48. Unfortunately there were two rollers used on these doors and the documentation does not properly distinguish by hull number so take a look at the picture, I’m pretty confident this is the proper one however.

Re: Special tool to open inspection port on water tanks?

I bought an inexpensive metal dock cleat with two mounting holes and a solid base that was slightly wider than the groove in the cap. I ground the width of the base so it fit snuggly in the cap. ?The ears on the cleat serve as a solid hand hold for both hands to move the cap. ?If it is really stuck you can slip a pipe over the end of the cleat to add some leverage. ?Works on the holding tanks as well.

I had the same problem. Channel locks and vice grip tore through the wood. I cut this from 5/8" plywood and use a 10" or 12" Crescent Wrench. It works great.?

Re: Special tool to open inspection port on water tanks?

So, I haven't tried it yet, but yesterday when I was cleaning my raw water strainer, it occurred to me. The top of the strainer from vetus has the same plus pattern as the water tank just reversed.?

I'm off the boat for a few days, but I was going to try and see if they fit. That would then give a nice big handle to open the tank with.

When I asked the dealer he said Lagoon has one but I never could figure out how to get it.

I repainted around my salon windows on my Lagoon 380 and it turned out nice. I used a spray paint can made to paint plastic I found at a hardware store.

Meir,

That’s the one I have on a 2004 410. There is also one to lock the slider “window” above the sink on the 410. I don’t understand why it’s not on all models. You can just see the window one to the right of the attached picture.

This is strange. Our L400 has strong locking bolt to secure the door when open.?

I believe it is a standard feature, the boat was delivered new with the bolt in 2011.

Move with care or break the cap.

2 or 4 hands is good, but sometimes not enough (getting a stronger person can help).

Another option is 2 things to fit (snugly) into the ends of the + shape then use a bar across them and extending out one end,

for example a socket wrench with a long handle and a pipe (socket extension piece): socket fits in the +, long handle lies across the port, small pipe fits into other end of + and rubs against the socket handle, handle lies across red thingy and sticks out (a lot) one end.

Be cautious of banging knuckles when it lets go.

When you get it out ... clean both threads really carefully (toothbrush) ... any grit in the thread does not help for tightening or next time.

Re: Lagoon 440 - Sliding Door to main Salon

Yes we too had problems with the rollers on our 2010 L400 Salt and corrosion set in and seized the roller that eventually developed a flat spot. Still slid but not as easily. Spraying with lubricant is now on our regular maintenance regime.
disassembly of the door was relatively easy.
1 remove anti lift attachment top of closing side on the vertical style. See pic
2 lift door out ( we place on saloon table) if you look at the bottom you can see the rollers
3 remove 2 large screws at bottom of vertical styles holding bottom horizontal mullion in place. One on each side.
4 gently tap bottom mullion down to reveal enough of the extrusion to slide the roller mechanisms out.
5 loosen the screw holding the roller mechanisms in place and slide out the end of the extrusion?
From here lubricate and disassemble the mechanism. We purchased a nylon roller from a local hardware store that happened to have the right bore and diameter but was .5mm narrower still works okay. You can buy the assembly from a Lagoon part supplier but they were 5 weeks getting back to us by then we had the job done.?
Reassembe, put door in place, adjust for alignment and coupling of door lock with screws in the roller mechanisms at the bottom of door
hope that helps
