Thanks Kevin,

I¡¯ll practice on a piece of scrap first to see what happens. It sounds like the slower the better though to minimize heat.

Yes, not easy. It digs in too fast and will either break the drill bit or the acryllic. I have tried running it backwards to heat it up then slowly forward to pull out the "softened" plastic with some success. But go slowly. Keep going backwards alittle then forwards alittle until the hole it made then backwards to soften the plastic for a few seconds. I have heard the same with cutting acryllic with ply wood blade running backwards on a table saw. It does make a mess though. Now, I just use the laminate trimmer. It also makes a mess.??

Has anyone had any experience drilling into the Saloon windows? I want to install shade screens on the outside. I know there is a special bit for drilling a hole (about 1/8¡±) but was wondering if anyone else has done it. ?I plan on tapping the hole and installing small bolts. This is a 2004 410.

Thanks for any help,
