Re: Lagoon 380 S2 Replacement Sails

Frank, the sailwarehouse.com has 5 new mainsails with alittle modifications will fit your boat made by pro/stock. Just FYI. I purchased a new mainsail for my boat and modified it for alot less. I believe they were for a 38 Robert Caine boat. They are full batten. I do recommend changing your batten holders to adjust from the luff instead of leach. This allows a smoother leach that won't hang up on lazy jacks. The sails that I was looking at were the 45'luff and 16'foot. I have found several catamaran sails for new in the $1500 price range at other sail lofts. I found my mainsail for $500 and it was new with a dramatic full roach. Alterations were around $500. For some reason there are alot of new catamaran sails available in that size. A friend of mine spent $5800 for a new mainsail. He is kicking himself right now.?

Thanks Kevin

Many thanks for the advice.
I am going for
tri-radial cut on both sails.
Square top main using the simple Lagoon system for controlling the top of the sail when raising and lowering.

Now for materials:
I am told by some that Challenge Warp Drive 8.11 is the best for sail shape and life. Others say it is far too light a material for a Lagoon 380 Catamaran.
Others say?Contender CDX 7/9 is best. Others say?Contender CDX 9 (I do not understand the meaning of CDX 7/9. Is is 7 or 9?)

Can anyone advise?
