it seems what ever works for the individuals. reducing the size of the freezer is a good option.?
i have a engel 40l fridge freezer and will be installing it under the front starboard bunk. this will then become my dedicated freezer. Engel are very reliable units and draw very little current compared to the 10amps for the fridge and freezer on start up.
this will mean i? will have to get under the bunk for items but as it will be the freezer, this will not be a big hardship.
This will allow the top loading fridge/freezer to be cold storage for drinks juices etc
as steve says the vertical fridge works very well but sometime you really have to get down on the floor to reach the back of the unit.
i placed small plastic fridge containers with open tops. 2 fit the width of the fridge and 2 deep. this allows us to have like items together and stops the rolling around of everything.
