Some of you may not know that ¡°back in the day¡± (my KHS time) there was no football in Chester County. Boys (only, pre Title 9) played soccer in the fall. I mostly sat the bench. You know it Randy! My Dad, Mom, myself and baby Christopher have been following the entire tournament especially USA. I'm sad there is no azzurri, but I'm optimistic about the red, white and blue!?

Pete, did KHS have football when you were there?? For the record, the 0-0 draw against England yesterday was a win for me. Kinda like the Lions beating anyone.? I¡¯d rather watch two 45+ minutes of soccer without commercials than 2 hours of commercials to one hour of football.?

So far not too many controversial calls by the refs. Mexico always gets screwed with bad calls. Messie will get a penalty kick soon.

Back in the older day, Lonie and I were cheerleaders for the KHS soccer teams. Lonie predated me when both Mim and Arch were playing. Dino was on the team when I was a cheerleader. I knew nothing about football until college TheToughies would get an annual game against a ragtag KS team. We¡¯d watch on the Mary D. Land playground. No equipment, uniforms, or whatever for the teams. I confess I¡¯m interested for USA and to see the advanced skills. ?We ¡°girls¡± played soccer and field hockey in the fall gym classes, but no Title IX so no games with other schools.

The elite women get knocked down, get a bloody face and get up. Much tougher than the men. The men are primadonnas. I¡¯ll root for the USA but at that elite level those guys are total pussies.?
No football for me and I graduated in 87. I think it started late 90s or early 2000s. Kennett¡¯s soccer and wrestling really benefitted from no football though as the best athletes played soccer. Now I imagine the football team attracts the best athletes and soccer and wrestling have lost a step.?

Nikki and I have watched most of the games so far. ?Today it ?looks like Messi finally is getting some World Cup success. ? Both US and ARG are now win and in or lose and go home in last round robin games next week. ?I¡¯m looking for the ¡°American Messi¡± (Brenden
Aaronson, from the Medford NJ and previously Philadelphia Union) will have a chance to start and show his stuff against Iran next Tuesday.?
As a former amateur ref, I¡¯m not big on the semiautomatic VAR and some are saying that one the of the many?autoVAR?disallowed goals ?in the ARG Saudi Arabia game was not right. ?Fox coverage
of this as well as the protests has been atrocious.
