Linda:? I spent as much time at the Waltman table as I did our own. Growing up with the kids was a treat in that going to the park was an every day occurance. I worked there in many capacities as a child from selling peanuts in between shows (Peanuts come in a 100 lb burlap sack & I was not strong enough to move it so Mr. Waltman would move it so that I could portion control the peanuts into little paper bags and sell them like that for 10 cents a bag), to the soda stand, to the ice cream stand. I have a copy of the book, saw all the big names. Larry’s dad Lawrence just had a 98^th birthday on August the 17^th this past year. When I was older (15), during the summer I drove truck for and with Lawrence when he filled silos. As farm equipment, you did not need a license in those days.
