We recently announced (via a press release and local media) that the application portal is open for the first legacy initiative of the Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee.??

In partnership with the Play Equity Fund, the Selection Committee will select 26 local nonprofits that are using the game of soccer to empower and uplift their communities.? Only 501(c)(3) public charities or government entities (not individuals) based in Los Angeles County are eligible to receive the grant. These organizations must be using soccer to bring communities together, address physical, social, and emotional health challenges, or support the region’s rebuilding efforts by using the game to create connections, joy, and recovery. ??

Each selected organization will receive a $26,000 grant award,?a?professionally produced marketing video showcasing their organization, and?public recognition of their work in the lead up to FIFA World Cup 26. ??

The portal to apply is now open and will close April 23, 2025.?? The selection committee will meet in May to choose the 26 organizations, and we will announce the winners at the June 11, 2026 “One Year Out Celebration”.?
