Maestras 2 Preview and Discussion
Please join us for a preview and discussion of the second women's Atelier.
Maestras 2 is an evening of coffee and dialogue with the participating
artists discussing their work and the Maestras experience, with scholars
discussing the historical and cultural significance of the project. The
Maestras Atelier brought emerging and legendary artists together in
mentorship and support to create a suite of serigraphs through Self-Help
Graphics' acclaimed Atelier Printmaking Program.
This year's Atelier was curated by Barbara Carrasco and features work by:
Laura Aguilar, Laura Alvarez, Cristina Cardenas, Barbara Carrasco, Yvette
Flores, Ester Hernandez, Christina Miguel-Mullen, Elizabeth Perez, Shizu
Saldamando, and Tecpatl Apolina Vargas. Participating scholars include:
Teresa Mckenna, Sybil Venegas, and Yvonne Yarbro-Bejarano.
Admission is free.
