VC Film Fest

The VC Film Fest opens with the LA Gala Premiere of Green
Dragon, by Timothy Linh Bui, co-producer and co-screenwriter of
the award-winning film Three Seasons. Set in a Marine airbase
circa 1975, GREEN DRAGON is a compelling story of
Vietnamese immigrants to America and of their experiences in
military bases
intended as way-stations before being relocated to a new home -
a 1970s version of Ellis Island. The film, an official
selection of the 2001 Sundance Film
Festival, is inspired by the experiences of director Timothy
Linh Bui and his
brother, multi-award winning director Tony Bui (THREE SEASONS).
The film is
executive produced by actor/director Forrest Whitaker (THE
CRYING GAME,
WAITING TO EXHALE) and stars Whitaker, Hiep Thi Le (BUGIS
STREET, HEAVEN AND
EARTH), Billinger Tran, Don Duong, and Patrick Swayze (DIRTY
DANCING, GHOST).
