LABIRD ¡ª let me use this message as an excuse for lobbying compilers to email compilations to participants. In the 1970s through maybe 2000 or so, this used to be Standard Operating Procedure for all LA CBCs that I was familiar with, even though the much of that era was pre-email, pre-personal computer, and pre-spreadsheet software. Those compilations (species and individuals for each area) were much appreciated by the participants so that they could see that the results of their individual and combined efforts; they also provided incentives for participants to work their hardest. Nowadays, counts are compiled mostly by putting them into a spreadsheet, so it really doesn¡¯t take much additional work to at least offer that to the participants, and that can be done as soon as the CBC is submitted, thus as soon after the count as possible.
