Question: Antenna Connections
Rudy, W5HRH
I have both the LA-1K and the HF-Auto.? I have three (3) antennas that I would like to use.? My question is, should I connect the antennas to the LA-1K and do the antenna switching at the amplifier or should I connect the antennas to the HF-Auto and switch antennas at the tuner.? Thanks.

开云体育If the SWR is good, use the AMP.? If they need to be tuned, use the Tuner. ??The tuner will still try to turn a perfect SWR, which could catch you off guard if you forget to put it in bypass. Otherwise, it really doesn’t matter. ? |
开云体育If you use a antenna port on the amplifier will it remember anytime I use that band? ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Barry K4OCS

You have to configure the Amplifier to switch to port N for each band. Click the Band button, choose the port you want. It will remember the port when you choose that band or if the CAT data takes you to that band. From: "Steve Shep" <shepsvettes@...>

ALWAYS TUNER FIRST On Sun, Sep 13, 2020 at 3:04 PM Rudy, W5HRH <Rudy@...> wrote: I have both the LA-1K and the HF-Auto.? I have three (3) antennas that I would like to use.? My Hexbeam is on Ant 1 on the amp as it is 1.5 or less 10-20m. Ant 2 goes to the HF-Auto for the other antennas that need tuning. All the switching is automatic. I see no reason to run an antenna that does not need to be tuned through the tuner. Why would you want to have to take it in and out of bypass when switching?
