Firmware 1.05B

Danny K5CG

I've never updated firmware before so this is from a noob's perspective.

The user manual I have (copyright 2018 no publish date or version) has instructions about updating firmware on page 8.

DOWNLOAD the Firmware file (Zip format) from the Palstar website,
.

404 The requested document was not found on this server.

I think it must really be?

OK, I found the latest firmware (and only the latest) so I downloaded it.?la-1k_firmware_1_05B.zip

Extracted it, and it created a folder named?V_1_05B and nothing else from the root of the zip file.

Inside the folder are 4 sub-folders and a text file.

Following the manual, I connected a USB cable to my PC.

DOUBLE-CLICK “LOAD_LA-1K” within your LA_1KFIRMWARE folder that you
created in Step 2

That file doesn't exist in the extracted files.

Do I have an old manual or is the zip file incomplete?

I found the zip file for the 1.03H version I already have installed and see the LOAD_LA-1K.exe file is in there so I think this 1.05B firmware zip file is incomplete.

Edited

It is incomplete. It actually looks like a folder from something all together different however I used the loading program (folder) from an earlier update and used the new 1.05B txt file as the source. Worked fine. Not the first time I have done this.

Thanks. I'll do the same.

The feedback was also intended for Palstar to mitigate everything that is wrong with what I found (or didn't find in this case).

I followed the instructions from this video and successfully installed the firmware for my LA-1K. I vaguely remember the process but I think I pointed it to the “txt” file. Anyway, the video should have details of the process. ?I hope it helps!

Does anybody have a previous firmware file, with the loader program? I bought my LA1K used and this would be the first firmware update I will be doing on this. I tried contacting Palstar by email, but no response.?

You have to wonder about a company's tech support when they don't respond to your inquiries and don't release a proper firmware file on their website.?

Thanks.

I may have 1.04C, I will let you know when I get home.

Email me at w3kit at Yahoo dot com so I will have your.

Often i see their software developer and hardware were out of sync.

I bought mine new and I think it came with 1.04B and there were no info available anywhere on their website.? Mine LA-1K was built around March of this year.

Anyway, I will let you k now about the firmware if none hasn't.
