I love the amp also.? Run FT8 mostly with it and try to stay below 63C, so up and down on the input.? 15w in gives me about 350w out, also running 220v.? Running the amp into
the Palstar Auto tuner and then 4 element SteppIR, so SWR is great on all bands!

It is my understanding from PalStar that the ICAS power rating is 1kw while the CCS rating is about 225W.? CCS is continuous 24/7.? Mine sits in a shelf with an exhaust fan in the back.? Works fine with Fldigi and WinLink VARA HF at 250-300W
and stays below 60C.
Don’t exceed 60W drive and keep VSWR <2.2.? I use a manual tuner.? Gas discharge lightning protection can cause problems, beware!

Thank you for the swift response!? The information you and others provided has helped to reinforce my decision to consider the LA-1k as an addition to my shack. Like you I will provide 220V for best efficiency.
I currently use a Palstar AT2KD manual tuner and thinking about the HF-AUTO tuner.

Hi Bill. I run mine around 700w on rtty during contests without any problem. Been a rock solid performer for me. The highest temp it’s gotten to is 68C, then I back off a bit with the drive and TX, until it cools down to 60C. With lower
output around 400w it stays around 55C-63C. There are 3 stages to the fan speed. It cools off quite fast.? I use 220v for my amp. It’s got many hard hours on it and very pleased with its performance.?
I don’t ever overdrive it. 50w max drive or 40amps max (appears on the panel).?
Panel is very useful for swr, power and temperature.?
It’s been a workhorse as I turn it on nearly every day for the past 5 years.?
I am currently considering the purchase of a LA-1k amplifier to support my Kenwood TL-921 which does not cover 6 Meter.
Can anyone provide me with any experience with the LA-1K and heavy duty cycle activities such as the Fldigi modes?
