Drawing rectangles

Hi all,

simple question:
How can I define a rectangle for the edge cut?

With the rectangle tool I can draw quadrates by clicking at start and end point.
A rectangle is shown when I drag from the start point, but I can¡¯t make it persistent (do I need to double click there? I tried.)
Using inspect with the measure tool on the quadrat does not allow me to change dimensions to a rectabgle.

This is 6.0.6 on macos 10.15.7

Hi

Using Kicad 5.1.12

I use the "add graphic lines" tool.

Click at the start point, click once every corner and double click at the last (first) corner to close.

The result is one line between each 2 corners.

AFAIK it still works in Kicad 6.

Best regards

Jorge

Yes, it works. But it is clumsy, if you have to use a fine grid.

The rectangle tool being constraint to a quadrate looks like a bug in 6.0.6 to me.

I always used the cursor keys, not the mouse when I want precise control.

Also the rel org figurers keep things on track

I select the start point, hit space to zero the rel co-ords then place
the line with the cursor keys. You can use the values in the rel or-ords
to ensure that you are aligned with a side or corner.
