Is there any way to define arbitrary copper in the footprint editor? I Hmmm . . . not that ive seen. I would just pour some copper in the shape that you need. You can intersect it with traces of the same net. That way you can make the Kelvin connection. -- AC2CL I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... Hi,
I have done footprints with extra copper on the surface. Just draw them on the silk screen layer, then edit by moving them to the required copper layer. I have even copied them over and move them to the mask layer. This is how you can make fancy copper pads on one side of the board only. I have done that with Kicad v. 4.07 but have not tried it on 5.0 Good luck . On Wed, December 12, 2018 5:17 pm, Al Dutcher alziedood@... [kicad-users] wrote: HiLevente leventelist@... ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýLast time I tried such a thing it was necessary to draw what I wanted using Inkscape, then export a high rez bitmap, then use the bitmap import tool which gives a shape on the silkscreen layer. Finally I had to edit the ascii file to change the layer designation to the required copper layer. Is there now a better way to do that? Andrew On 12/12/2018 23:13, Lev
