Well put. I've see a certain amount of work done in KiCad and I'm impressed. I've used it to an extent coming from a bit of dabbling in commercial product and I have to say KiCad meets and exceeds my needs & expectations. Cheers, Dave F> |
KiCAD Library Conventions in PDF (download available)
Hello
I compose and upload KiCAD Library Conventions PDF generated from? One of the most important document for KiCAD. P.S. No idea why I can`t upload files there (Files folder). No problem with LTspice or QSPICE group! Download link: https://ln5.sync.com/dl/6bbe09440/fiynriq9-qvtt3isu-s9q7n2vc-4bgcnhwv -- Kind regards, Victor |

Re: 2024 KiCad user survey
开云体育GM,
?
I completed the survey, but had very little to contribute because I just downloaded it the other day at the recommendation of one of my local mentors.?? He did a project last year and I was telling him that I was interested in doing something simply as well.?
?
I will probably try to do some sort of intro project so that I could learn my way around?the program.? perhaps use it to evaluate projects that others have shared to?the general public.?? I might even get some boards made if I can find a project that I and possibly some of my friends might be?interested.? ? ?
?
Actually it is something that I will do, in order to keep my brain active and possibly have some FUN along the way.? I have had several of those over the last?number of?years.? To me it is part of Ham Radio that I have never touched!

Re: 2024 KiCad user survey
Hmmmm, well if you are dissatisfied with how a smallish group of people spend their 'free time' then you a most welcome to contribute your time, energy, and skills to move things along.? If your expectations are those of a commercial product then you can always buy the commercial product. Re: Electrical Rules Check Help
The answer is simple. Connect each power and gnd port to a PWR_FLAG symbol: Errors will disappear. Angelo Adamo Il giorno gio 7 mar 2024 alle ore 09:47 Dilpreet Bajwa <bajwa.dil@...> ha scritto: Hi, -- Angelo Adamo QSD Sistemi Srl Via F.Confalonieri, 8 20060 - Masate (MI) Mobile: 348 1312 884 |
Electrical Rules Check Help
Hi,
I am new here, I was testing this basic Filter Circuit in newer v8.0 from their website, About halfway is Section 6. 6) Using a Dual OpAmp TL072 I ported the model as suggested, and Code reflects as such for each 3 parts. Circuit Simulation runs, fine, no issues, but when I do Design Rules Check, it comes back with as indicated Errors! Can someone comment - Attached is the Snap and is embedded as well for ease. Thank you for your help. R/ Dil. |

V8 Needs KiKit but it wont install
I have just installed V8 but when I run the PCB editor it complains that KiKit is needed (fair enough, so did V7).
However, after running the install command in the KiKad command prompt running the "kikit --help" command it claims 'kikit' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Any suggestions ? Dave |
Re: 2024 KiCad user survey
I also like KiCAD and complete survey. Why I`m pessimistic?
Because I`m very pessimistic about how speed KiCAD team react to users request. Remember how long changing fonts was implemented, changing power symbol text? 10 years? 20 years? Also low quality fonts and shapes?rendering?on schematic. See 20+ y.o. OrCAD or modern (and also free) QSPICE for reference implementation. There are no GPU used during 3D raytracing.... and more and more. All of this is "must have" ... especially looking on calendar with numbers 2 0 2 4 I wish only good luck to KiCAD developers... prosit!? -- Kind regards, Victor |

Re: 2024 KiCad user survey
Good thing I'm an optimist then, we already have hundreds of responses :) Results will be presented on the blog sometime this spring after the survey closes. On Wed, Mar 6, 2024 at 2:58?PM LV <victor.levandovsky@...> wrote: I am a pessimist. I bet a dime there will be no results. |
Re: 2024 KiCad user survey
I like KiCad and appreciate all the work (that I couldn't do!) that goes into it. I filled out the survey and I hope it helps the developers and goes a small way to influencing the future work on the software.
Why not just fill the survey out and accept what was said above about a summary of the results. |
Re: 2024 KiCad user survey
We will publish some kind of summary of the results on the blog after we close the survey and process the results. On Wed, Mar 6, 2024 at 10:17?AM John Hudak <jjhudak@...> wrote:
