It turns out you cannot set the file size of images . The board also
supports databases which can include photos the size of which can be
limited but I am not sure if that would be any

OK, it turns out that this feature is not turned on for regular users. It
took a while to trawl through the admin user interface to find the right
setting but I think it should now allow all members
