There is a tool called "highlight wires and pins of a net" in the schematic editor just below the arrow tool at the top of the right hand toolbar. This highlights the trace and pins on the PCB window, if it is open (prefera bly on another screen)

I have a rather large device to enter as a symbol and footprint and checking it will take ages.
