It happens as soon as I try to open an editor. I can open the main KiCad window without issues, but if I then try to open a schematic or pcb, it gets the DRI errors.

can be a little tricky to set up, but it works very well.
Yeah, we are using this solution too ATM. But it is far from ideal, because the desktop size is fixed and the whole solution is slow compared to X-forwarding. But it works for now.
