I have added W5GS to the list as George normally checks in on all three bands. Good morning, You likely noticed Stan (W4AG), our NCS for 40 and 80 meters, was missing from the net last night. Stan was having last-minute problems with his radio. I switched over to 40 meters when I could. I do apologize to anyone I missed. With very little notice, Mike (W3TS) jumped in to cover 80 meters which was a huge help. Mike, thank you! Congratulations to Bill (K8ZCT), George (W5GS), Mike (W3TS), Ted (N8TJE), Dan (KW4LQ), and Tony (VE3DWI) who made all three bands tonight. Dave (N1CGP) is recognized for making two bands. Thank you to Rich (NA6F) for preparing the primary station logs for the CW and SSB Nets. Most of all, thank you to all who took the time out of your busy schedules to join us. That is what makes it all worthwhile. 73, Rich N?ENO

Happy Easter to All as we celebrate the reason for the season
3
Easter is a beloved holiday that we look forward to as we pull off 12 calendar pages till next year. For so many sweet reasons! It's the perfect excuse to gather with your favorite people, neighbors, friends and even more, "friends of friends" while indulging in the tastiest festive bites at your Easter dinner, buffet or brunch. With the weather warming up, it's also an energetic sign that spring is officially here and a refreshing hello, sunshine and outdoor egg hunts! All in all, Easter fills every bunny's heart with joy. Enjoy the time as you reflect together the meaning of Easter and ponder upon that throughout the year. Tom and Sharon Thomas Musolf N8NJY and Sharon KB8VII statipro1@...

Fw: [Philmontmobileradioclub] Fw: Off Topic; Macy's / Wanamaker Organ Recital - Saturday March 22nd, 2025
----- Forwarded Message ----- From: Mark Hinkel via groups.io <mrhinkel@...> To: Main <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 09:36:58 PM EDT Subject: [Philmontmobileradioclub] Fw: Off Topic; Macy's / Wanamaker Organ Recital - Saturday March 22nd, 2025 ----- Forwarded Message ----- From: Mark Hinkel <mrhinkel@...> To: F&N - Mark Hinkel <mrhinkel@...> Sent: Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 09:17:12 PM EDT Subject: Off Topic; Macy's / Wanamaker Organ Recital - Saturday March 22nd, 2025 My son, his friend and I went downtown to see the last public recitals of the large Wanamaker organ Saturday. At the Jenkintown train station we bumped into Dan (K3NXX). Dan the Hamfest man and his friend Stephanie are both members of the Old York Road Historic Society (Elkins Park up thru Hatboro). The 1st floor down where the eagle is was very crowded, so we went up to the 2nd and 3rd level balconies. There we bumped into Alan (KA3YCG) - I know both Dan and Al from the Warminster Radio Club. I have several of my own pictures up on my Facebook page; https://www.facebook.com/mark.hinkel.1 There were as many as 10,000 people at Macy's / Wanamaker's Department Store in center city on Saturday for the final public organ show until the building is rebuilt into something new. I don't even think the new owners know quite what's going in there - however the new owners plan to retain the organ in the building. I'm sure most are interested in the videos posted on YouTube. Yes, there were multiple tripod base video cameras going all day. In particular, the large (huge) flat screen TV up on the front wall showed the organist hands on the main screen and in the lower corner (picture in picture) his feet working the peddles - totally amazing considering the organ has 5 or 6 levels of keyboards "plus the foot pedals". Mark WA3QVU From the YouTube post: The 10am recital; Aaron Patterson has been an assistant at the Grand Court since 2017. A native of Philadelphia and a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and the Juilliard School, Aaron is currently music director at Cresheim Valley Church. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qa6zuIwnVJY The 5pm recital; Peter Richard Conte was appointed Wanamaker Grand Court Organist in 1989 and is the fourth person to hold that title since the organ first played in 1911. He is also Principal Organist of Longwood Gardens and Choirmaster and Organist at Saint Clement¡¯s Church, Philadelphia, where he directs an 18-voice, all-professional choir. Conte has been featured several times on MPR¡¯s Pipedreams and ABC television¡¯s Good Morning America and World News Tonight. For thirteen seasons, he hosted the monthly Wanamaker Organ Hour on WRTI Radio with co-host Jill Pasternak. He is the 2008 recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Indiana University School of Music, Bloomington. In June 2011, he was inducted into the Philadelphia Music Alliance¡¯s Walk of Fame with a bronze plaque on Broad Street¡¯s ¡®Avenue of the Arts.¡¯ He has numerous solo organ, orchestral ensemble and choral recordings to his credit, including many on the Wanamaker Organ. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5-QBEQbAbk&t=1357s Andrew Ennis is a professional trumpeter/flugelhornist and music educator in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area. He is the Department Chair and Instrumental Music Director for the Arts at Bishop Eustace Preparatory School in Pennsauken, New Jersey, and is the organist for the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Camden, New Jersey. One of Mr. Ennis¡¯ greatest pleasures and passions has been making music with Peter Conte and the Wanamaker Organ since 2013. The Wanamaker Organ changed his life, and he is beyond honored to be asked to participate in this program. -- 73, Lloyd N2KPC TEN-TEC Amateur Radio Net Manager.
