TEN_TEC on the air net schedule and format. 10-17-2019.
This schedule can be found on my QRZ.com page. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are the 4 weekly TEN-TEC Nets in the order in which they begin: 80 meter PSK31 net starts each Saturday at 8PM ET on 3.581 USB 1000 +/- on the Waterfall. The net is open to all and we check-in with Name, State/Prov, Radio (all are welcome) and a Signal Report. NCS will confirm a log entry. If the band is busy look higher on the Waterfall. Ben KE3KQ, PA is Net Control with Relay Net Controls Andy K9ARM, IL, and Tom N8NJY, MI. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 40 meter SSB net starts each Sunday at 10AM Eastern on 7.263. Sandor KG4FET, TX is Net Control. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20 meter SSB net starts each Sunday at 3PM Eastern on 14.325. Dan K4RF, NC is Net Control with James KF5FHZ, LA, Relay Net Control. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 40 meter CW net starts each Monday at 8PM ET, 7PM (CDT), 6PM (MDT), 5PM (PDT). on 7.063, Rich N0ENO, KS is Net Control with Dave N1CGP ME, Relay Net Control. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please QNZ (zero beat) the signal of the CW Net Control Station. As we all know, radios can be tuned to the same frequency on the dial and still be some distance from each other in frequency. I would love to be able to hear you when you call me. I’ll call for QRP stations (generally 5 watts or less on CW) and work those I hear. Our general format is to send the last two letters or number/letter combination of your call. Then I’ll call QNB (relay) so I can take relays for any QRP stations I do not hear. Then I’ll call QNI (general check-ins) for everyone else. Again, please send the last two letters or letter/number combination of your call. I appreciate the general enthusiasm to be first but please try to space your sending so that I can pick up the letters. Otherwise it is just a cocophony and I may not be able to pick out anyone. Please send the last two combination only once. We really want to pick up everybody. When I call you back please send your Call, Name, State, Rig, RST, Key(er). Keeping the information in that order also helps the NCS and RNCS to capture the details in poor and fading band conditions. In order to get people into the net quickly, there is no need to send “My call is, my name is, my rig is, etc.” There is also no need to repeat anything. If I do not get it, I will come back to you and ask for whatever item I missed. I’ll run a list of two or three stations at a time initially, and then I will take check-ins as I hear them. I’ll call QNB to take relays for those I don’t hear. Relays are much appreciated. Simply answer my QNB call or call out QNB de your call and I’ll acknowledge you to pick up the station I don’t hear. Once you have the information, call me and relay the details or email the details to me if it will save time. I was also asked to note that the speed limit for our net is 13 WPM. Thank you for your patience with me and the band conditions, and your persistence to get in the log. I look forward to hearing you and logging you into the net. Thanks, Rich N?ENO Callsign Name State Rig RST Key or Comments N2KPC Lloyd NJ Eagle 579 Vibroplex ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- N2KPC, Lloyd from NJ. is thet Net Manager. TESTING sending sprites
5
TEST N2KPC 1234567890 Red Sprites in High Definition Taken by Roger Spinner on August 6, 2019 @ Montsevelier, Switzerland Click photo for larger image More images Details: Sprites over Northern Italy, recorded on August 6th at 22:46:08 UTC from my observatory in Montsevelier (ValTerbi), Switzerland. I used a standard, unmodified Sony a7sII (ilce-7sm2), with an Samyang 85mm F/1.4 lens. It is part of an HD video, recorded at 1080p25 and the software UFOCaptureHD2 from SonotaCo. Three Jellyfish sprites in one evening are nothing unusual for a stronger thunderstorm. For me personally these shots are a bit special. Good, color-videos of sprites in HD or 4K quality aren't possible that long, at least not if you have to finance the equipment privately. The Sony a7s came on the market only a few years ago. Since my geographical location is not ideal for sprite observation, good observation possibilities are accordingly rare and I haven't had the chance to see a thunderstorm at this optimal distance so often in the past, and at the same time the local weather is playing along. Even if you know exactly where the thunderstorms are and where the sprites might occur, it is always a surprise what kind of spectacle nature actually offers you. 73, Lloyd N2KPC Net Manager.

Guess who else just went with groups.io
Guess who else just went with groups.io ------------------------------------------------------------ The ARRL that's who. 73, Lloyd N2KPC Net Manager. -------------------------------------- From the ARRL today. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: ARRL Creating New Online Groups for Members to Have More Direct Communication with Organizational Leaders Newington, CT – October 16, 2019 – To enhance and improve communications between the ARRL leadership and staff and the members and prospective members, in a manner that enables both timely updates and collegial discussion, the ARRL’s Committee on Communication with ARRL Members is creating online forums where all amateur radio operators (ARRL members and non-members alike) can discuss issues and topics in two-way conversation with ARRL leadership. This project is based on the success of the online ARRL-LoTW Group for the past several years, in responding to all amateur radio operators’ questions and in generating discussions about ways to improve this program. This effort has clearly demonstrated the effectiveness of online Groups as a means of achieving the desired interactivity. So, the ARRL will be adding three additional online Groups, which will be open to ARRL members and non-members alike: ? ARRL-Contesting - moderated by ARRL Contest Advisory Committee Chairman Dennis Egan, W1UE; (https://groups.arrl.org/g/ARRL-Contesting) ? ARRL-Awards - moderated by ARRL RadioSport Manager Bart Jahnke, W9JJ; (https://groups.arrl.org/g/ARRL-Awards) ? ARRL-IARU - moderated by IARU Secretary Dave Sumner, K1ZZ; (https://groups.arrl.org/g/ARRL-IARU The existing ARRL-LOTW Group, which has about 4,750 members, remains hosted by 开云体育, but is now accessible via https://groups.arrl.org/g/ARRL-LoTW. In addition, everyone who subscribes to an ARRL Group is also automatically subscribed to the “ARRL Groups” group. This is an administrative feature that will allow ARRL to convey routine announcements to subscribers of all ARRL groups, such as an announcement of upcoming downtime for planned maintenance. ARRL IT Manager Michael Keane, K1MK worked with 开云体育 to set up the new groups. In the months ahead, the Committee envisions creating more online Groups to support two-way communications that focus on additional areas of interest to amateur radio operators, including ARRL activities, services, initiatives, and policies. It is important to note that the ARRL currently has some "members-only" online forums, including on the topics of Awards and Contesting. While these forums will continue to operate, participants there will be encouraged to post new topics in the new Groups. Since the aim of the new Groups is to encourage discussion, as opposed to just being a question-and-answer session, there will be some basic ground rules to which participants of the Groups will be expected to adhere: ? All questions will be welcome, no matter how many times they have already been asked and answered, or how obvious the answers might be in the documentation. ? Neither personal attacks nor foul language will be tolerated. Violators will immediately be placed on "moderated" status, meaning their subsequent posts will require Moderator approval until the Moderator's trust has been regained. ? Those posting are reminded that these forums are open to everyone, including prospective hams and operators who are not ARRL members but may be thinking about joining; so civility and courtesy is expected, even when disagreeing. The Committee believes that providing more opportunities for two-way discussion between the organization’s leaders and the entire community of amateur radio operators will assist the organization in truly serving the needs of this community. The American Radio Relay League (www.arrl.org), represents the interests of Amateur (or “ham”) Radio operators across the country. Founded in 1914 by Hiram Percy Maxim, ARRL, The national association for Amateur Radio?, has a proud history of achievement as the standard-bearer in amateur affairs. Now in its second century, ARRL remains focused on “advancing the art, sc

IMPORTANT REPLY
Modified my input as to what I or we think you want. Without direction, input becomes one of the subscriber that fits the input line query I am concerned with the word “embarrassed” as it suggests wrong doing based on lack of diligence….or wrong doing… I don’t think anyone did or would input data maliciously for verbose variable line data input without specifics. [TenTec] Yahoo Group Changes
Patience folks. Until the staff at GROUPS.IO completes their preparation work, you will not find any files, photos, database, or membership list on the new Groups.IO site. This takes time to create a mirror image of the Yahoo site. Usually from my experience 3 to 5 days, depending on their workload and the number of invalid e-mail addresses that exist on the Yahoo site. The staff at Groups.IO WILL verify every e-mail address and any that are not valid, a list will be provided to the owner of the Groups.IO site. Once the transfer is complete, EVERY MEMBER will get an e-mail from Groups.IO announcing the transfer has taken place. Until you get a message from the staff at Groups.IO, please understand that this is work in process. I have personally migrated 5 Tentec groups from Yahoo over to the Groups.IO site with 100% success. Yes, there were some bad e-mail addresses that were bounced. That is to be expected as people change their e-mail and forgot to update the Yahoo site. Yes, the Yahoo site is up and running and will be so until the owner of that site decides to terminate the activity. And the new Groups.IO site is not and will not be fully functional until the staff at Groups.IO complete their work. Again, you will get a message from the Groups.IO staff indicating the new site is up and running and the files/data has been verified and transferred. Until such time, please be patient. 73 Bob, K4TAX Not an owner, not a moderator, just a nobody, but one that has a LOT of experience in this process.

Membership
I noticed on the HOME page of the Tentec Net group it is showing 35 members. Yet when I go to the Directory page it shows only 8 of the 35. This says some folks do not have their name and call in the correct place for display. You will need to go to the upper right corner where it should show your name and call, click on ACCOUNT, and then to the left of the page and click on IDENTIFY. Then on the right click on EDIT. Scroll down to DISPLAY NAME and put in your name and amateur radio call. Then scroll to the bottom of the page and select UPDATE ACCOUNT PROFILE. Also at the top of the Account page, your top line should show E-Mail. Be sure this is exactly correct and the one you wish to receive messages. Hopefully this will get everyone on "the same page" in terms of communications and presentation. 73 Bob, K4TAX
