Paddle sound

开云体育

Hi folks,

?

Lately, when I send CW using my paddle, the sound also comes from my WinKeyer USB box.? Any clues on how to eliminate that so that I just hear the code through my headphones?

?

I do have the WinKeyer USB hooked up with N3FJP.? I can control the keyer speed on my WinKeyer, and I can control keyer speed in N3FJP as well as with the F keys.

?

Thanks.

Two things: One - if you don’t want to hear the Winkeyer at all, when it’s first “brought up “, hold down the red button for a few seconds, then with your paddle respond to the “?” the Winkeyer sent by sending the letter “A”. That will shut off any sound emanating from the keyer. Two - if you just object to the loudness/volume of the keyer, just open it up and place a small piece of electrical tape over the “speaker” hole!
Both work for me!

In my opinion, if your Rdio has paddle keying and straight keying then use WinKeyer only with applications. It works great with any I have tried. You of course plug the WinKeyer key output to the radio straight key input. To use a paddle you use the paddle input? on the radio.

I actually Modded mine to make it fully functional where it can be so loud you can hear it in an auditorium or next to the generator at Field Day. Or dead silent!

On the front I drilled a hole the same size as the hole in the tiny speaker/pizo? thing. And hot melt glued the speaker inside to the hole. Talk about LOUD!!!!!

Then I added a tiny pot to the sound leads and made a volume control.

so Now I have anywhere from no sound at all to so loud you could hear it 100 yards away!
