Just got mine today - pre-ordered early.

With the stand, it is a great looking unit.? Have just started playing with it, although I have owned a K45 for several years.

Love the bigger display in a slightly smaller box.? I think this is a real winner.

With the old-age problems, I need all the help I can get in doing CW, both send and receive, and this unit will fit the bill.?

Not sure what document you are wanting to read, but when I feel the type is too small, I start pressing the Adobe ZOOM buttons at the lower righht of the Adobe window to make the document look as big as I need it to be.

Because of actual screen size, you may have to scroll back and forth to read the sentences, but it works for me.

All track pretty much the same, sometimes one will do a little better than the other, and then it will switch back, so they seem tied.? I did not get the K46 to use with the 890, but rather when I am out in the field with the FT-817 or other little rigs I have

The point is the default type size is way way way too small. The need to ZOOM that is also a pain as soon the lines fill the screen and you have to scroll side to side too. ? I have the WinKeyer and love it. I assume your reader is great too. I have an MFJ464 which does a great job of decoding at up to 99WPM but very few programs support that. Of course it is no longer available. I got it before thy went out of business. ? SAD thing for those that wanted MFJ and Cushcraft products but great for you. ? You can use N3FJP directly to an icom 7300 in either of two ways— neither of which is satisfactory in my opinion
A) you can have N3 FJP insert call signs and other information as needed to create contest responses and send those to the straight key input of the 7300 - I don’t know of any way to send it as paddle input— and the timing will not be good. It will be jerky.
B) you can have N3FJP activate canned ?text on the internal of the icom 7300 and it will have good transmission then but I don’t believe you can insert call signs.?
For this Reason the Winkeyer ?is very helpful

So that probably explains it. He has been better off than we have, ?and has been able to simply have N3FJP do the keying. That hasn’t worked for us. It was close, but just not right. Windows management of time just not good enough. Maybe we just have crappier computers over here in Florida!!
Should have used the New Mexico brand!
We had a local expert teach us a bit about these things and he strongly recommended that we use the winkeyer the way we currently use it. ? It has worked great for us.

My computers work well with, or without, a winkeyer.? i do prefer the winkeyer though and have two.? One in a backpack for portable use and one permanently setting in my equipment rack.
