KBARA Field Day

KBARA,

?? Thank you to everyone who made this year's Field Day a huge success! ? There were many members who could not attend.? You were missed!?? I am often TOO busy at meetings and miss opportunities to interact with our awesome membership. I personally enjoy Field Day and the Club Picnic as times to talk and share stories with club members.
?? Remember this month's meeting is again at the Washington Federal Conference Room at 6 (or 6:30 if you don't want the class [on ferrites this month]).
??? To those who supported Field Day with investments from their own personal funds, please bring your receipts to the meeting tonight for reimbursement.

Thanx,
?? Jeff Eastburn, KBARA Sec/Treas.

Silent Key

Sad to report that WB7DDH Raymond Searcy passed away this afternoon with his family by his side at the?age of 90.
According to K-Bar-A history he donated?$100 towards the purchase of a new GE 2 Meter repeater for Hamaker in 1978.

Raymond's Grandson is WRJY779 Forest who is on the Klamath Falls GMRS repeater.
His Grandfather was a Freight Train worker. As he rolled around?the USA in the Caboose, he ran a HF rig, would talk and CW all over the world as they rolled down the tracks.
Forest got his Grandfather a GMRS radio so he could listen in, a couple?times would talk to his Great Grandchildren on the radio!

popularity.. .?

Thanks for yet another GMRS repeater, Dale and thanks Charlie!

FYI GMRS repeater now up and running on Herd Peak Siskiyou?County, Ca. on 462.575+ DPL 606N
Good coverage from Weed to the Stateline on 97 and 5
It is linked back to K-Falls 462.600 plus the other 7 repeaters.
We have had quite few users access the Herd Peak repeater from K-falls directly.
All made possible by Charlie!!!!!!!
