Re: The ARRL Frequency measureing test

Hi Larry,

Just saw your email regarding the FMT in November.? Well to start with I use a Rubidium?standard that is good to 1 part in 10 to the 8th.? That is attached to the external ref input of my Flex.? Then I use the app FLDigi in the frequency analysis mode to measure the frequency.? I have had very good results with this modest setup.? My biggest problem is that I forget the nights that the FMT is on.? First time I tried the FMT was with my old Flex?5000a? I forgot to account?for the 600Hz offset that it gives you in the CW mode.? Needless to say my results?stunk!.? Since then I have used USB to listen to the signal.? I have just purchased?a DPSO GPS oscillator from China.? It was so cheap I wanted to see what it would do.? I ordered one from AliExpress.? CHEAP!!? I'll let you know in Rickreall if it's worth the money.

Aboud David Bissell.? Was he a 67 graduate or 68?? I haven't knocked on his door yet.? Didn't he live in the house catty corner?from yours on Fremont and Newcastle?? If he did, I used to date a girl there.

It looks like you did very well on both the 80 and 40-Meter tests! It would be interesting to know how you obtain such accuracy. I'd be lucky to be within 0.5 kHz or so, just reading my ICOM digital display that shows only one decimal place to the right of the kHz value!
