Question about QSI decoders
#qsi
#sprog
Hi everybody, for many years I have had several locomotives that were equipped with QSI decoders. Recently I needed to reset one of them and Decoder Pro didn¡¯t seem to recognize them as QSI. I ended up doing it on a generic CV configuration. Yesterday, it happened again with a different locomotive. My programming track is powered with a sprog.
I¡¯m pretty sure that QSI went out of business. So do y¡¯all know if this is something? I¡¯m just gonna have to deal with now? Larry Sloan Eat, Sleep, Work, Play with trains |

My Sprog doesn't reliably read QSI decoders. I normally use POM for programming QSI decoders. I've found that a Digitrax DCS100 with a programming track booster, or a Digitrax PR4 configured as a stand-alone programmer will read QSI decoders. I'll use one of these choices if I'm helping somebody with a QSI decoder that has CV settings they don't want to lose. FWIW - QSI Solutions went out of business; QSI remains in business. HTH - YMMV, Ross -----Original Message-----

You could try a higher voltage power supply, something like 16 volts. What Sprog do you have and what power supply?
You could also ask on the Sprog group. -- Peter Ulvestad Linux Mint 22.1, JMRI 5.11.5, Java 21.0.6 JMRI Users Group Moderator ( /g/jmriusers ) JMRI Developers Group Moderator ( ) Tam Valley Group Moderator ( ) Sprog-DCC Group Moderator ( ) Edmonton Model Railroad Association ( ) |
