Locked Layout editor Track drawing options not showing on web panel
Hi
I'm developing a fictitious layout in Layout Editor with twin track, with many twists and turns, such that it's difficult to follow which track is which. To help with this I've started using the Track Drawing Options to colour the different tracks. To do this I've assigned one of the tracks as mainline, and the other sideline and given then used different ballast colours. This is reflected on the model also. This is great on the 'native' panel, but when shown on the web no colouring is present. I'm guessing that this in on a to-do list somewhere, but was wondering if it's planned for implementation in the near future, or whether I should use a different approach to highlighting the differences? Here's a somewhat colourful example of the colouring that can be done, along with it's web representation: /g/jmriusers/files/ProblemsBeingWorkedOn/Andy%20Brown%20-%20161045//TrackDrawingOptionsWeb01.pdf I'm currently using JMRI v4.17.6 Thanks Andy |
It’s on my to-do list… but pretty far down… :(
The panel.js file need some major refactoring… but without any way to write test cases it’s very fragile… at the very least I’d like to see it use TypeScript over JavaScript… but that’s going to require someone with build mojo (not me). On the plus side I did add decorations support! The web client now supports arrows, bridges, end bumpers and tunnels! ;-) |

Thanks for pointing out that the block colouring work on the web - I think that method will be an ideal solution for this project. I'm already using the bridge and tunnel decorations :), but I've never noticed the Arrow decorations. The Bumper decoration is only available on segments where there is a Buffer Stop (makes sense!!), but where can the arrow be used? Thanks Andy |
