Locked DN147 Series decoder not found #digitrax

Hi,
I just bought some DN147 series Digitrax decoders. DecoderPro was not able to identify this particular decoder when I put it in a loco.
?
My current version of DecoderPro 4.26 does not have any DN147 decoder definitions.
Is it possible to add these decoders into my system without updating everything ?
I've tried newer versions of DecoderPro and ended up deleting everything. There was a problem with my PR4 and Sprogg not being identified when plugged in.
?
I found some DMF files on Digitrax website and I was able to download them but I have no idea if this is what I need and what to do with them.
?
I'm using an older iMac and have Java version 8 which is all working happily. It seems updating Java to a newer version causes no end of problems.
?
I'm no computer expert so any advise in simple terms would be greatly appreciated.

The DN147 is definitely in 4.26. Are you using "New Loco" and "Read type from decoder" to find it?

I installed the decoder and it does run correctly as loco number 3. I wanted to change the loco number so I used "New Loco" , "Read type from decoder" steps to try to add it into DecoderPro.
The "Create New Loco" panel shows this .......
?
Whether I choose "All" or "Matched Only" the screen shot above is the only result. ? I looked through Digitrax website and discovered there is a retired DN147A. I think its safe to say the DN147 currently in DecoderPro is the DN147A which Digitrax retired in 2002.
The DN147A was replaced by the DN163A1
The DN163A1 has been replaced by the DN147A1 which is what I have purchased a week ago.
So we have DN147's and DN147's .......... I'll refer to what I have as DN147A1 (2024)?
?
I think the version number is what is holding DecoderPro from identifying the decoder correctly.
I don't want to change DecoderPro from version 4.26 because all of the 5.XX versions I have tried have a problem with identifying ports when I try to connect.
4.26 works great ! ?Is there a way I can update part of DecoderPro 4.26 when the version numbers from Digitrax becomes available ?

I found it in the "basic Fx" group.
Some simple decoders do not have read enabled. And the definition has 0 in CV7/8, so nothing JMRI can read to get the version.

Actually you are wrong on this.

<family name="Basic FX" mfg="Digitrax" lowVersionID="91" highVersionID="111">
If you hoover your pointer above it, it will show what version numbers
