Locked BDL168/Intellibox/PR3 - PanelPro sensors are always high

I am still using the same Intellibox I bought 18 years ago for my first layout. At that time I used Dr. Chubb's ODs and CMRI. Now I would like to build a modular layout using JMRI PanelPro and loconet devices. So it's test time. I am connecting Digitrax BDL168 (Direct Home wiring) to Loconet B of IB and to PR3 through two Loconet cables and then to PC via USB. Well, detection is ok according test leds in BDL168 but no data is sent to Loconet.? I checked all the IB/PR3 settings too.? Opening Loconet monitor (see attached file), only when I switch off DCC power from IB I can see all 16 sensors high (some of them are low for a while) and when DCC power is on again, nothing changes. However I can read and write BDL168 OPS from PanelPro.

I suppose I am facing a loconet fail, perhaps linked to the language used by Intellibox. Am I wrong?

Your power-on test shows that the LocoNet data transmission is working: Data can get from the BDL168 to the computer OK. But the BDL168 is (apparently) choosing not to send when something changes. IIRC, the BDL168 reduces noise by only sampling at certain times in the DCC waveform, which it synchronizes from the RailSync conductors in the cable.

One thing to test: Is the ¡°RailSync¡± signal present on the LocoNet cable?

See this for some background:

It¡¯s not exactly describing your setup, but it¡¯ll explain some of the things that might be an issue.

Pino,

I don't have an IB to try any of this; however, as Bob noted, some of the BDL168 connection is working right.? Here are a couple of things to try:
1.? Check Op Switch settings 11 and 12.? You may have to set 11 on one board to make it a bus master.? You may have to set 12 on one board so that it terminates the Loconet.? The IB may already do these things.
2.? Check how the BDL168 is powered.? The manual requires 12-16 V AC or DC.
3. Finally, section 13 of the BDL168 manual has a trouble shooting guide.
