Locked Trouble programming a Tsunami 2
I was programming a TSU-1110 Steam-2 last night. I tried a "write all entries" as I have a custom profile set up. I received a large list error screen of Java issues. It actually required a complete reboot of the PC to get it to come back.
I narrowed the issue down to the T2 Function key reassignment tab by writing the tabs one at a time. If I did a "write full sheet" it would error out with "the programmer" is busy" message. I could get it to take the changes I made if I did the CV's one at a time with a "write changes on the sheet" for each line.? I have seen this on other T2 decoders also. This was the worst. I am using the latest version of JMRI on a Windows 10 Home PC. The system is Digitrax DCS-100 routed through a PR-3. Any ideas? Lawrence Eggering |
Lawrence, I dont know if this is specifically related to your problem or not, but I do know there are some issues with writing all sheets where things stack up and cause slow downs and/or lock ups.? The developers are aware of this and are working on it. A workaround that helps is to go to the cvs pane and write changes on sheet from there. It will go through and write most or maybe even all the values you have changed without locking up. Then scroll the list of cvs. If some are still not written, then write changes on sheet again and keep repeating until they are all written. Not a perfect solution, but avoids the lockups / reboots/ restarts.? I hope this helps you. ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThat is quite correct. Avoid Read/Write All Sheets, there are known issues with possible command overlaps. Instead (as Tom has said) use?Read/Write Full Sheet on the CVs pane and use Read/Write Changes on Sheet and repeat until none remain to be done. Click on the Status heading in the CV list until it shows a small down arrow (sorts by by Status descending) and avoids scrolling though the list each time.? --? Thanks Tom, I have done this on many other decoders without issues. (I do a lot of installs)?
I actually tried the CV's pane also but the number of cv's with error was equal to locating it in the single tab. Painful yes, a show stopper no. I was just looking to see if someone was working on it. -- Lawrence Eggering Creaky Chair Models LLC |
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIt's a random obscure timing thing and yes we developers know about it (there is an issue logged) but we are all swamped with more urgent issues (it may interact with other work already in progress) that don't have workarounds. We have explained the workaround, it is easy and reliable, please use it. --? Dave in Australia The New England Convention 2018 On 16 Nov 2018, at 8:34 AM, leggering1956 <lceggering@...> wrote:
