¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI use my Alexa to control layout power, layout lighting, and aux power units all on separate commandsOn May 7, 2025, at 11:45?AM, dnbroraback via groups.io <dnbroraback@...> wrote:

I don't know if you simply want on-off or mood lighting. but I do day-night sessions.
I control the overheads with a cheap B&D remote relay and wireless controller.
My layout has a light sensor that's on a detector input.
JMRI takes care of layout light and animation features based upon that sensor.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýDoing just on and off room lights isn¡¯t too hard. But I¡¯ve seen a number of different attempts. Right now the best choice isn¡¯t cheap but works pretty well. Look up the DMX light controllers that are used by the theater and shows. They use a ton of those for rock concerts. Only problem I¡¯ve had is the cheap USB interfaces. You find a number of them with identical descriptions but only some of them have the right drivers that JMRI can connect with. Right now, only ones that show up as a serial communication port are ones that JMRI will work with. ? -Ken Cameron, Member JMRI Dev Team
