JMRI Download TRUST

I have been a JMRI user from the days of the infamous lawsuit... Happenings of the last two years have kept me out of Model Railroading and JMRI.? Trying to restart with a new location and layout.
?
I tried to download the latest test version of JMRI to a new WIN 11 laptop.....
I tried to follow the steps to "trust" the downloaded file but nothing on my computer resembled the instructions I got from the helpful web...?

Is there a straight forward set of instructions for downloading and installing JMRI on WIN 11?

Lou, Are you using a 3rd party anti-virus package? ?If so, which one? The help page that was updated today describes the steps required for Microsoft Defender. If you could provide a screenshot of the message that you see, someone might be able to help. A lot depends on which form of Antivirus you have on the computer. Each will present a similar but different message. All of them boil down to it saying: We haven't seen this file very often. We don't detect any known virus in it but not sure if you should trust it or not. Now some systems put a clickable point on that window that leads you to being able to say "I know where it is from, I trust it" like Windows Defender. But others 'quarantine' it and you have to go into that folder to get it back. 开云体育Louis, ? If you are using MS Edge and MS Defender you will have to ‘Keep’ the download 2 times during the process. ? Start the download from the ‘Release Notes’ page; a ‘Downloads’ sidebar opens.? The JMRI download appears at the top of the list with a ‘warning’ triangle.? Hover on the entry; click on the 3 dots; click ‘Keep’ ? A ‘Make sure you trust . . .’ pop-up opens.? Click on ‘Show More;’ click ‘Keep Anyway.’ ? HTH Ross ? ? ? Ross, The JMRI Help page for installing on Windows was updated today. ?It would be helpful if you could review the change to make sure that I got the details correct. Louis, Or turn off Malwarebyte for the download and install and then turn it on again.
