Re: JMRI Uninstall

Yes it is easy to install and also upgrade to the next version. But getting the remains of the old is frustrating. I am just going it format and reinstall image and JMRI .

Jim,

Removing the JMRI install is easy. ?Delete the JMRI directory that was created by expanding the tgz download.

The Linux install is two steps. ?I install JMRI in the user home directory.

tar xzf JMRI.5.10+Rca461bd266.tgz -C ~
~/JMRI/CreateJmriApps.sh -d

The second step is only needed for the initial install. ?It creates the desktop icons in the ~/Desktop directory and the application references in?~/.local/share/applications directory.

Well that ship has sailed I built the image from scratch. I just have to uninstall JMRI completely and reinstall and I will be good yo go . There are reasons I don't want to use his image.

Jim,

It is always fun to roll your own but with a limited knowledge of Linux you can get yourself in trouble. Though I think I know enough to manipulate the Pi, I use a clean install of JMRI using Steve Todd image. ?It is easier for me to add my own programs after the fact to his install which includes the latest OS and JMRI. If you prefer to still do your own his software details may get you over the hump you are experiencing.?

On a new installation of JMRI on my Raspberry Pi. I? tried to create a symbolic link? to auto start the program and did something wrong . It now starts twice when I click on on Icon. One with the correct config the other with edit connection screen. So that being said I think it would be easier to uninstall JMRI and re-install the whole program . So how do uninstall? JMRI from Raspberry-Pi ?
